MSU student dies in one-car accident

STARKVILLE – A Mississippi State University freshman died on Tuesday morning in a one-vehicle accident near the MSU campus.

Kaleb D. Barker was a freshman kinesiology major from Lucedale. He died from injuries suffered in the accident, which occurred after midnight near Strange Brew coffeehouse.

“The Mississippi State University family is heartbroken today over this very tragic accident,” said MSU President Mark Keenum in a statement from the university. “Kaleb was a young man with a great deal of promise. We feel a deep sense of grief, and our thoughts and prayers will remain with Kaleb’s family and his many friends in Lucedale and here at MSU.”
