Mugshots today moved a step closer to building a Tupelo location. The franchise, owned by brothers Ben and Johnny Robbins, is slated to open in Fairpark, next to the Renasant Center for IDEAs.

Thursday, the Tupelo Redevelopment Agency, which governs Fairpark, approved the designs for the restaurant. The designs previously were approved and recommended by the design committee of the Downtown Tupelo Main Street Association.

The plans now to go City Hall for the permitting process.

Johnny Robbins said he hopes to start construction soon so he can open in January or February.
