Authorities seek suspects
in armed robberies
n TUPELO – Police are looking for five people involved in two unrelated armed robberies this week.
The first occurred Tuesday around noon when a man reportedly was robbed by three men brandishing a weapon at a gas station in south Tupelo. The victim told police the men walked up to his car and demanded he throw all his money on the ground. When he did, the suspects fled on foot.
In a separate incident early Wednesday, a man told police that a man and a woman approached him after he left Wal-Mart on West Main Street and asked if he had some jumper cables. After telling them no, the man said he gave the two a ride to a business on Main Street, where they robbed him of an undisclosed amount of money.
He told police the two people claimed to have a weapon, but he never saw it.
No arrests have been made on either case, and the victims’ identities were not released.
