The Mantachie Mustangs traveled to Mooreville to take on the Troopers Saturday night.
Mooreville took an early lead by scoring three runs in the bottom of the first, but the Mustangs answered in the top of the second with four runs of their own.
Shawn Thompson drove in a run on a double to left and later scored on a throwing error during a pick off attempt.
Tyler Beaty struck out in the inning but reached first on a error by the catcher.
Tanner Eden stole second after reaching base, and Beaty scored on the steal by Eden.
So with the game tied at 3-3, Eden moved up to third where he later scored on a passed ball.
The Mustangs led 4-3 until the bottom of the third when Mooreville tied the game on a sacrifice fly to right.
Mooreville regained the lead in the bottom of the fourth and led 8-4 heading into the fifth inning.
The Troopers held onto their lead and added to it later in the game. Mantachie battled back within three of the Troopers but fell 12-9.
On Thursday, the Mustangs will travel to New Site and Friday night, they will host H.W. Byers.
On Monday, the Mustangs will face in-county rival IAHS Indians at the Saltillo Tournament.
