Myrtle man dies in car accident

A Tuesday afternoon accident in the Etta community claimed the life of a Myrtle man.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol responded to the scene at approximately 3:30 p.m., on MS Hwy. 355.
According to the Highway Patrol, it appeared Jimmy H. Fireman was traveling south on MS 355 in a 1994 Toyota Tercel, when he apparently lost control of the vehicle an left the roadway. The vehicle overturned several times.
Foreman died of his injuries from the wreck. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
A passenger was airlifted to the Med in Memphis with critical injuries. The passenger was also unbuckled.
The accident is still under investigation. MHP is investigating to see whether alcohol contributed to the crash.
