ECRU – An hour-and-a-half after polls closed Tuesday, votes were tallied in the runoff election for Ecru’s next alderman.

Bill Nance won with 89 votes to Berlon Quillian’s 82 votes. This is a final tally including absentees and affidavit votes.

The election was to fill the seat vacated after Jimmy Whitehead resigned. Several candidates ran for the office two weeks ago, which resulted in the runoff.
