Northeast Mississippi’s congressional delegation voted against the budget resolutions passed Wednesday in the House and Senate.
Sens. Thad Cochran and Roger Wicker, both Republicans, voted no, as did 1st District Rep. Travis Childers, D-Booneville, on the $3.4 trillion resolution. Childers was one of 17 Democrats opposing the measure.
The resolution sets the stage for debate on the specifics of federal spending for the 2010 fiscal year, beginning in October.
