Manning’ review

TUPELO Richard Warriner, DDS, will review “A Father, His Sons and a Football Legacy, Manning” at noon Wednesday at Lee County Library’s Luncheon With Books in the Helen Foster Auditorium, second floor. The monthly event is a week early due to Thanksgiving.

Booklunch

Aberdeen The Friends of Evans Memorial Library Booklunch will be at noon Wednesday with Michael Hudson reviewing “Friendly Fire” by Scott A. Snook. Cost is $4.

Baldwyn banquet

BALDWYN – The 4th Baldwyn Schools Endowment for Excellence in Education Inc. Benefit banquet is Thursday with dinner at 6:30 p.m. in the Baldwyn High School Cafeteria and the auction at 7:30 p.m. in the BHS auditorium. It benefits all three Baldwyn schools. For tickets, call 365-8800.

Sleeping Beauty’

MANTACHIE – The Mantachie High School Drama Department will present “The Spell of Sleeping Beauty” at 7 p.m. Thursday in the new gymnatorium. Tickets are $3 adults and $2 children. Performances just for the students will be at 9 a.m. Thursday and Friday.

Food Fair

TUPELO – All Saints’ Episcopal Church will have its annual Food Fair on Thursday from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. or as long as the food lasts. Homemade foods include frozen casseroles, baked goods, candies and canned goods.

Parish Bazaar

HOUSTON – The Houston Parish Bazaar is 7 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday at First United Methodist Church Family Life Center with crafts, baked goods, frozen casseroles, and rummage sale. Breakfast begins at 7 a.m., and spaghetti lunch is 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. to dine in or carry out for $5.

NEW ALBANY – Mary Carol Miller of Tupelo will review her book “Written in the Bricks” at the Union County Library’s Lunching With Books on Nov. 21.

Christmas tree fest

BELDEN – Tupelo Woman’s Club Christmas Tree Festival begins at 7 p.m. Nov. 21 at Tupelo Country Club with an auction of five Christmas trees, wreaths and other decorations, a drawing will be held for a decorated tree. Tickets are $10. Call (662) 2911.

Baldwyn parade

Baldwyn – “A Storybook Christmas” is the theme of Baldwyn’s Christmas parade beginning at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 30 at First Baptist church parking lot. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three floats. Entry deadline is Nov. 28; call 365-1045 or 365-3232.

Midway Christmas

Fulton – Midway Marina will have its annual Open House on the dock from dusk until 8 p.m. Dec. 2 with boats decorated for Christmas and tours of the docks and some boats. Coffee and cold drinks with cookies will be offered.
