The National Association of Development Organizations presented the 2013 Innovation Award to NEMPDD for its work on the Tishomingo County-Comfort Revolution Economic Development Project.

NEMPDD “worked with Tishomingo County officials and Tishomingo County Development Foundation to put together an incentive package to lure Comfort Revolution to yhe former Schnadig Furniture building in Belmont,” said NEMPDD Executive Director Sharon Gardner. “The facility had been vacant since 2007, and with the assistance of NEMPDD the county was able to utilize a state program to purchase the building. NEMPDD also made application for a grant to be used to renovate the building.”

Comfort Revolution is a leading developer and marketer of high-end mattresses, mattress toppers and pillows. It partners with Sealy, which will locate distribution operations in the facility also. The plant is Comfort Revolution’s first U.S. manufacturing plant.
