FULTON – After months of research and discussions, supervisors have approved the purchase of new equipment for the county’s 911 system.
The bid was awarded to Amory-based Precision Communications, which submitted the lowest bid at $131,266.
Also vying for the county’s business was Tupelo-based Integrated Communications, which entered a bid of $132,049. Both bids were for five-year contracts that include equipment, installation and maintenance.
The equipment includes VOIP capabilities, which allows communication via Internet lines rather than phone lines and is offered by companies such as Vonage.
