NEW ALBANY -A Myrtle man was arrested Friday and charged with possession of marijuana and crystal methamphetamine.
Union County Sheriff’s Department officials arrested Glen Allen Williams, 42, and charged him with possession with intent to deliver marijuana, possession with intent to deliver crystal methamphetamine and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The arrest was made by deputies Billy Hearn and Kevin Owens. The pair reportedly stopped Williams, a convicted felon, for a traffic violation and found him to be in possession of a firearm.
The deputies found about two ounces crystal methamphetamine during the traffic stop and a search of his home followed, in which more than 20 pounds of marijuana were discovered.
Officials said 67 firearms were found at Williams’ home during the search. The Union County Sheriff’s Department, the New Albany-Union County Drug Task Force, the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics and the Federal Drug Enforcement Agency in Oxford had reportedly been investigating Williams.
Williams was released from the Union County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
