NEW ALBANY – The Union County Sheriff’s Office has become the latest of more than 60 Mississippi law enforcement agencies to team up with the Statewide Automated Victim Information Notification Service.
SAVIN allows residents to check the custody status of offenders in the Union County Jail, and any of the other 65 participating jails, at any time. It also will allow people to sign up for alerts so they can receive notification when an offender’s custody status changes.
Every county in Northeast Mississippi is signed on with SAVIN except for Benton County. The service can be accessed at (888) 967-7284 or online at www.vinelink.com.
