New police chief to start work in Holly Springs

HOLLY SPRINGS, Miss. (AP) — Holly Springs’ new police chief, James Dean, will take the helm of the department on Monday.

Dean tells the South Reporter (http://bit.ly/ydkYrX) that he likes to work with smaller police department that gives him the opportunity to get outside and work as a police officer.

The 53-year-old Dean has served as chief of police in two towns in Missouri and also worked for sheriff’s departments in that state.
