New principals, superintendents, begin jobs today

Many Northeast Mississippi education leaders will officially begin their new jobs today.
Although the shuffle of several superintendents and principals has already been announced, many of those changes didn’t officially take place until today.
Superintendents stepping into new positions today include Booneville’s Todd English, Baldwyn’s Ronnie Hill and Pontotoc’s Karen Tutor.
Meanwhile, new Tupelo High School Principal Jason Harris will begin on the job today. Harris, principal at Joyner Elementary the past year and a half, was named to lead THS on Tuesday.
Kimberly Foster, formerly assistant principal at Rankin Elementary, will succeed Harris as Joyner principal.
It will also be the first official day for several other Tupelo principals. Tupelo Middle School’s Kristy Luse moves from assistant principal to principal.
Terry Harbin moves from Lawndale to Carver, Anna Guntharp switches from Rankin to Parkway and Kay Collins goes from Church Street to Thomas Street.
Brock English will begin as principal at Lawndale after serving as that school’s assistant principal. Paul Moton also takes over as Rankin’s principal. He had been director of the High School Advancement Academy.
The Lee County School District has only one new principal. Lee Bruce takes over at Mooreville Middle School, as Adam Lindsey leaves that school to become principal at Baldwyn High.
