MANTEE – Mantee residents can expect better water pressure and money savings soon.
A $60,000 Appalachian Regional Commission grant and a Community Development Block Grant of $450,000 were combined to purchase and erect the new tank.
The new tank is much higher and has a capacity of 50,000 gallons. It will be painted and should be operational in about five weeks.
After the tank is online, Fire Chief David Brand said Mantee would meet all the requirements for a Class 8 fire insurance rating – down from a Class 9.
Brand said the resulting annual savings for a homeowner should be around $200.
