Public invited to view THS senior projects
– TUPELO – Tupelo High School’s 420 seniors will present their senior projects Tuesday during Culmination Day at the BancorpSouth Arena.
The 12th-graders will first present their projects to community evaluators. From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., their parents as well as the general public are invited to view the projects.
The project begins during the junior year with a research paper and the tentative selection of a topic. Other components during the senior year count as three major English grades.

Ecru hopes stimulus
can provide sidewalks
– ECRU – Town leaders are hoping $277,000 will be available in stimulus funds for sidewalk repairs.
Officials tabled any sidewalk repairs until funds become available, and Alderman Bill Nance suggested that the town check into the cost of removing the existing sidewalks that are in need of repair.
