NMMC health fair rescheduled for Saturday
A health fair sponsored by North Mississippi Medical Center’s Health Promotion Clinic has been rescheduled for Saturday.
The event originally was scheduled to take place Feb. 3 but was postponed by the ice storm.
The health fair will take place from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at NMMC’s new Family Medical Residency Center on South Green Street in Tupelo. It will offer a variety of health screenings, including blood pressure, cholesterol, glucose, eye pressure, medication review, hearing, body composition, depression and foot. All of the screenings except the cholesterol and glucose screenings are free. An $8 fee will be charged to cover the cost of lab work for those two tests.
Tupelo Eye Center will provide the free eye pressure screenings.
There also will be activities for children, including fingerprinting by the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, clowns, face painting, balloons and programs on poison prevention and personal hygiene.
