No snow accumulation being reported

No snow accumulation is being reported as of 5 a.m. in Northeast Mississippi.

Some dry air is keeping snow from making it to the ground in the NEMS area.

The weather is much worse to the south. Louisiana closes state government offices in 42 of the 64 parishes because of winter storms.

The National Weather Service office in Shreveport reports three to five inches of snow across northwest Louisiana. Other offices say predawn reports include four inches of snow in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and one to three inches south of Interstate 20 in northeast Louisiana and Mississippi.

The office in Jackson says it has confirmed three inches in McComb, Miss., and two inches in Tylertown, Miss.
