No tax increase for Tupelo schools, district decides

By NEMS Daily Journal

TUPELO – The Tupelo Public School District will not request a tax increase for the 2010-11 school year.
The district had run an advertisement in last week’s Daily Journal saying that it might need a slight increase.
The advertisement was a formality to comply with state law and was needed in case an increase was necessary.
At Tuesday’s school board meeting and budget hearing, school officials said that no increase would be needed.
