North Lee’s ex-chief set for sentencing

By NEMS Daily Journal

ABERDEEN – North Lee County Water Association’s former manager is set to be sentenced at 3 p.m. today in federal court.
Dan Durham, 66, pleaded guilty last December to lying to the federal government about the association’s water samples. He faces up to five years in prison.
Durham was forced to resign his post in October 2011 amid employees’ allegations of corruption.
New officials said wholesale changes have taken place since Durham and his supporters departed roles at the association.
If he is sentenced to prison, the U.S. Bureau of Prisons will decide where he serves his time.
