TUPELO — The U.S. Postal Service has scheduled public meetings next week on local post offices in four north Mississippi communities.
WTVA-TV in Tupelo reports that the USPS officials will discuss whether to reduce operations at the facilities or possibly close them and consolidate the service with nearby post offices.
On Monday, Greenwood Springs will be the topic of a 6 p.m. meeting at the Splunge Volunteer Fire Department.
On Tuesday, USPS officials will hold a public hearing on the Van Vleet Post Office at 6 p.m. at Van Vleet Volunteer Fire Department.
On Wednesday, Derma will be the subject of the hearing at 6 p.m. at Derma City Hall.
On Thursday, a meeting to discuss the Sherman Post Office at the Sherman Public Library at 6 p.m.
