U.S. House candidate Alan Nunnelee of Tupelo on Monday gained endorsements from two political organizations.
Citizens United endorsed Nunnelee “as he fights to repeal the wrongheaded and irresponsible legislation recently passed by the Democrat-controlled House of Representatives.”
Citizens United’s recent push before the U.S. Supreme Court resulted in a decision to remove limits on corporate spending in campaigns.
Nunnelee also received support from Gun Owners of America Political Victory Fund, which termed him a 100 percent gun rights supporter.
Nunnelee, a state senator, is seeking the Republican nomination in the June 1 primary to oppose incumbent U.S. Rep. Travis Childers, D-Booneville, and seven others in November. In the primary, he faces Angela McGlowan of Oxford and Henry Ross of Eupora.
