GULFPORT — The National Weather Service says there have been reports of at least three possible tornados touching down in Mississippi’s coastal counties.
Meteorologist Shawn O’Neil says Gulfport Polilce reported damage to several houses near 17th and 19th avenues and other law enforcement reported damage to property in the Orange Grove area.
Jackson County authorities also reported a possible tornado in the Pascagoula area.
O’Neil says all of the reported twisters are tied to weather activity associated with Tropical Storm Isaac.
No injuries were reported.
O’Neil says none of the reports Wednesday have been confirmed. He says there’s no way for survey teams to assess the area to determine whether damage was done by tornadoes or straight line winds until the weather clears.
