PONTOTOC – Sandra Kimbell, 46, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Oxford. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. Monday.
Verda Gilton
CORINTH – Verda Gilton, 98, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center. She was born Nov. 20, 1907, in Hardin County, Tenn., to William and Ida Parker Paden. She was a homemaker and a member of the Methodist faith.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at the Corinthian Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Joe Story officiating. Burial will be in the Fraleys Chapel Church of Christ Cemetery.
Survivors include many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Gilton; two brothers; and four sisters.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.

Alberta T. Foster Esq.
NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Evangelist Alberta Tipler Foster Esq., 58, died Sunday, Oct. 1, 2006, at her residence. She was born Dec. 4, 1947, in Benton County, Miss., to the late Albert and Nelma Tipler. She joined Harris Chapel Baptist Church at an early age and after moving joined Victory Christian Center Church in Brunswick, N.J. She graduated as valedictorian of Old Salem High School, Class of 1965; graduated from the University of Wisconsin and in 1973 graduated from Rutgers School of Law in Brunswick.
Services will be at noon at the Greenwood M.B. Church in Lamar, Miss. with the Rev. Ronnie Franklin and the Rev. Houston Evans officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Serenity Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Frager Foster, and her son, Shomari Foster, both of New Brunswick, N.J.; two daughters, Rukiya Foster of Knoxville, Tenn., and Sandi Gilliard of Philadelphia, Pa.; three grandchildren; five sisters, Rosie Hunt, Carolyn Porter and Michelle Matthews (John), all of Holly Springs, Venessa Tucker (Aric) of Southaven, and Althea Coleman (Thurmond) of Blue Mountain; seven brothers, James Tipler of Oakland, Calif., William Tipler of Memphis, Garry Tipler and Cortez Tipler of Chicago, Ill., Gaither Tipler (Margaret) and Dexter Tipler, all of Holly Springs, and Alvin Tipler of Pirmasens, Germany; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

WATER VALLEY – Delia Jenkins, 74, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Hodges Funeral Home of Oxford.

Earl P. Foreman Sr.
WEST POINT – Earl Presley Foreman Sr., 79, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at his home in West Point. He was born July 10, 1927, in Columbus to the late Lorene Elizabeth Wright Foreman and William Presley Foreman. He was a retired from Bryan Food as a mechanic after 27 years service. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran during the period following World War II.
Graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at the Bethesda Cemetery in Crawford with Dr. James Towery officiating. Calvert Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Peterson Foreman of West Point, whom he married Feb. 29, 1947 in West Point; his daughter, Gail Butt, and son, Earl P. “Buddy” Foreman Jr., both of West Point; three grandchildren, Alex Arrant (Gretchen), Kelly Wilson (Chris) and Casey Jones (Phillip); six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lorene Flippen (James) and Brenda Foreman, all of West Point, and Linda Callahan (Sidney) of Weir; four brothers, Thomas Foreman and Mary Olean of Macon, Luther Foreman (Ruth) of Columbus and Arthur Foreman (Jean) of Senatobia, and Danny Foreman (Jerri) of Olathe, Kan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ruben Charles Foreman; and one sister, Mary Acker.
Pallbearers will be Odie Hill, Kenny Dill, Laddie Huffman, James Watson, James Flippen and Henry Acker. Honorary pallbearers will be Wesley Abrams, Dr. Andrew Wartak and staff, Dr. Joseph S. Boggess, Dr. Gerry Jeffcoat, friends at West Point Police Department, friends at Calvary Baptist Church and friends in the Clark Circle community.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Myrtle Bishop
WATER VALLEY – Myrtle Bishop, 99, died Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2006, at her residence in Water Valley. She was a native of Panola County and a member of New Providence M.B. Church.
Services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at the New Providence M.B. Church with the Rev. Sidney Towne officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. Hodges Funeral Home of Oxford was in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Juanita Cox and Geneva Toliver, both of Water Valley; two sons, Leslie Bishop of Water Valley and John Bishop of Memphis; 24 grandchildren; 50 great-grandchildren; and 42 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wilton Bishop Sr.; one daughter, Everlena James; and one son, Wilton Bishop Jr.
Billie Mack White
PHEBA – Billie Mack White, 84, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in West Point. He was born May 26, 1922, to the late Maude McClellan and W.F. White. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a member of the VFW Post 2098. He was a retired dairy farmer and a member of Pheba Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Pheba Baptist Church with the Rev. Terry Rhodes officiating. Burial will be in the Pheba Cemetery. Robinson Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Tate and Johnny of Pheba; three granddaughters, Judith Stevens and Edward of Coffeeville, Janet White McKee and Steve of Maben, and Jamie De Los Santos and Mike of Pheba; four great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Annie Grave Forrester of West Point.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Strickland, Danny White, Jimmy McKee, Belton Harpole, Ronald White and Billy Ray Doss. Honorary pallbearers will be Glen Pate, O.M. Johnson, Benny Stafford, Sonny O’Brian, David Forrester, Bobby Joe McKee and Robbie Robinson.
The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services today.

HOLLY SPRINGS – Cliff Cowan, 80, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at the Baptist Hospital-DeSoto in Southaven. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Serenity Funeral Home of Holly Springs.

Katherine D. Knight
SHUQUALAK – Katherine Daniel Knight, 96, died Friday, Oct. 6, 2006, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was born Oct. 30, 1909, in the Calyx community near Shuqualak, where she spent most of her life, to the late Dempsy Byars and Jo Quilley Aust Daniel. She was a homemaker and a member of the Shuqualak Methodist Church.
Services will be at 3:30 p.m. today at the Cockrell Funeral Home in Macon with the Rev. Fred Showers officiating.
Survivors include one son, Dan Knight of Saltillo; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ella Adair of Memphis.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin Knight; and a sister, Louise Childers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Samuel Knight, Kyle Higginbotham, John Michael Boyles Jr. and Zach Boyles.
Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until service time today at the funeral home.

Odia Waddell
ADAMSVILLE, Tenn. – Odia Vivian Waddell, 86, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at her residence. She was born in Hayti, Mo., to the late George and Myrtle Maritt Chesire. she was a homemaker and was a member of the Counce United Pentecostal Church.
Services will be at 6 p.m. today at the Counce United Pentecostal Church with the Rev. Glen Miller officiating. Graveside services will be on Monday at noon in the Drybow Cemetery in Hayti. Corinthian Funeral Home of Corinth is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include four sons, Buddy Waddell of Michie, Tenn., Floyd Waddell of Counce, Tenn., Jackie Waddell of Harlem, Ga., and Lloyd Waddell of St. Louis, Mo.; one daughter, Jay Holloway of Michie, Tenn.; 28 grandchildren; many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Waddell; her parents; one sister, Ruth Mintin; three brother, Tommy, William and Riley Chesire; three daughters, Georgia Lee, Glenda and Jeanie; and two grandchildren, Terry Heavner and Robert Blaylock.
Visitation will continue today until service time.

Annie Rae Roberts
FULTON – Annie Rae Roberts, 90, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at Daniel Healthcare. She was born Feb. 1, 1916, in Itawamba County to the late William Robert and Jenny Lunceford Chamblee. She was a homemaker and a member of New Home Baptist Church for 74 years. She married Kenneth Roberts on May 31, 1941; he died Dec. 16, 1996.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. C.D. Hood officiating. Burial will be in the New Home Cemetery.
Survivors include four sons, Max Roberts (Robbie) of Hamilton, Ala., Jerry Roberts (Malene) and Ronald Roberts (Donna), all of Fulton, and Johnny Roberts (Hilda) of Belmont; two daughters, Martha Chumbley (Joe) of Belmont and Judy Allen (Clayton) of Mt. Olive, Ala.; eight grandchildren, Brian Roberts (Anna), Jamie Roberts (Ginger), Michael Roberts, Derek Roberts, Candace Harris (Layne), David Allen (Stacy), Tonya Branham (Paul) and Dana McKee (Frankie); seven great-grandchildren, Warren Roberts, Emmi Raegan Harris, Audie Allen, Allen Branham, Andrew Branham, Anna Grace Branham and Hunter McKee; two nephews, Paul “Pete” Chamblee and Robert Chamblee (Sylvia); two sisters-in-law, Faye Roberts and Louise Sweatman.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; three brothers, Paul, Clyde and Jim Chamblee; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Pallbearers will be David Allen, Gene Paul Branham, Brian Roberts, Jamie Roberts, Frankie McKee, Layne Harris, Robert Chamblee, Michael Roberts and Derek Roberts.

FULTON – Thomas Carlton Whitten Sr. 64, died Saturday, Oct. 7, 2006, at his home. He was born March 7, 1942, to Tilman Thomas and Earlene Williams Whitten. He was a retired truck driver and attended the Church of Christ.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Jeff Whitten officiating. Burial will be in the Hardin’s Chapel Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Whitten of Fulton; two sons, Thomas C. Whitten Jr. (Donna) of Town Creek, Ala., and David Whitten (Helen) of Pinson, Ala.; two daughters, Donna Sue Kilburn (Steve) of Kendallville, Ind., and Cindy Crane (Stacy) of Golden; 11 grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine Kennedy (Basil) of Tremont; three brothers, Billy Whitten (Myrtle) of Graysville, Ala., Jimmy Whitten (Diane) of Trussville, Ala., and Terry Whitten (Betty) of Dora, Ala.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Tammy Whitten Hendrick; and one sister, Ruth Johnson.

Survivors include their parents, Gregory Demetrius Wallace and Sharice Meosha Calhoun; one sister, Demetria Shanice Wallace; their grandmothers, Bridget Easley and Sharon Calhoun; their grandfather, Scotty Wallace and Terry Calhoun; their great-grandmothers, Mildred Wallace and Bobbie Lennon.
