JACKSON – Katie Childs, 85, died April 24, 2011, at St. Dominic Hospital in Jackson. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Darden and Sons Funeral Home of Amory.

OKOLONA – Paul T. Broom died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by E.E. Pickle Funeral Home of Amory.

TUPELO – Sarah J. Dunn, 67, died April 24, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors of Tupelo.

Michael Kohlhiem
BALDWYN – Michael C. Kohlhiem, 56, died Thursday, April 21, 2011, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Nov. 21, 1954, to Milton and Clara Mae Kohlhiem. He was a member of Mt. Nebo C.M.E. Church. He graduated from Baldwyn High School in 1973. He worked at Penn. Tires amp& Rubber Company and Tenn-Tom Waterway.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Nebo C.M.E. Church with the Rev. Carl Z. Jones officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Agnew amp& Sons Funeral Home of Baldwyn is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sisters, Martha F. (Sammie) Bolton and Clair V. Stewart, both of Baldwyn; and three brothers, Richard (Barbara) Kohlhiem, Larry Kohlhiem, both of Baldwyn and Mitchell (Shirley) Kohlhiem of Chesterville.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time Tuesday.

A’Miyah Gipson
OXFORD – A’Miyah La’Shae Gipson, six month old daughter of Ja’Terrika Gipson and Darrius Moore, died Friday, April 22, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford.
Services will be at 11a.m. Tuesday at East Providence M.B. Church with the Rev. Clinton Gipson officiating. Burial will be in Oxford Memorial Cemetery. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her parents, Ja’Terrika Gipson of Oxford and Darrius Moore of Como; two sisters, Ja’Kiya Moore and her twin, A’Maryah Gipson, both of Oxford; grandparents, Yolanda Gipson and Emma Malone, both of Oxford and Shirely Moore and Demetrice Williams, both of Como; a grandfather, Audie Booker of Coffeeville; great-grandmothers, Linda Gipson of Oxford, Alice Moore and Alice Williams, both of Como; and a great-great-grandmother, Bernice King of Oxford.
Glenda Cato
BLUE SPRINGS – Glenda Dewanda Cato, 73, died April 23, 2011, at her home. She was a member of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church in Blue Springs, and she was retired from Super Sagless in Tupelo. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Larry Bain, Bro. Wayne Cobb and Bro. Marvin Cox officiating. Burial will be in Glenfield Memorial Cemetery in New Albany. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her daughters, Ginger Price (Mike) of Shannon and Lanora Spencer of Blue Springs; her sons, Clifford L. Cato III of Blue Springs, Andrew Cato (Angie) of Ecru, Michael Cato of New Albany and Gregory Cato (Regina) of Blue Springs; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and two nieces and one nephew, all of Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford L. Cato Jr.; her son, Donald Cato; her mother, Elsie Fulbright; her father, Earl Fulbright; her sister, Bonnie Brown; her brother-in-law, Burly Brown; and her grandmother, Belle Staten.
Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Jason Sanders, B.J. Shelton, Petey Cato, Levi Cato, Drew Cato and Justin Kidd.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
April Stamper
MANTACHIE – April Marie Stamper, 17, died Friday, April 22, 2011, at the North Mississippi Medical Center from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was a member of Fawn Grove Freewill Baptist Church where she was an active member of the youth group. She was an 11th grader at Mantachie High School where she was a member of the Beta Club, Math and Science Clubs and FCA. She enjoyed riding four-wheelers and doing any kind of activities with her father.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Fawn Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Bro. Terry Booker and Bro. David Knight officiating. Burial will be in Fawn Grove Cemetery. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Mantachie is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her father, Douglas Stamper (Elizabeth) of Mantachie; her mother, Donna Wells of Texas; two brothers, Aaron Wayne Stamper and Austin Lee Stamper; one sister, McKenzie Nichole Stamper, all of Mantachie; her grandfather, Eddie Wells of Tyler, Texas; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the youth group at Fawn Grove Freewill Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from noon until service time Tuesday at the church.

Mary Copelin
ABERDEEN – Mary Alice Copelin, 80, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at Pioneer Community Hospital in Aberdeen. She was born Aug. 5, 1930, to Lonzo Smothers and Hettie Walker Smothers in Monroe County where she was a life long resident. She retired as a waitress at Tony’s Cafe. She was a member of Southside Baptist Church.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens with the Rev. Dennis Sullivan officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Louis Terry Copelin of Aberdeen; one stepdaughter, Sandra Armstrong of Aberdeen; one son, Ken Brogdon of Columbia, Mo.; one sister, Ruth Coy of Aberdeen; one step granddaughter; and three step great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and two stepsons, Louis Copelin Jr. and Randy Copelin.
Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

Rev. D.W. Jones Jr.
CAIRO – Rev. D.W. Jones Jr., 81, of Cairo, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at his home. He was a member of New Lebanon Freewill Baptist Church, a retired Freewill Baptist preacher and a sheet metal mechanic.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jack Whitley and Bro. Jack McCury officiating. Burial will be in the Little Brown Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia Dare Jones; one son, Billy W. Jones of Cairo; three sisters, Imogene Lasiter of Memphis, Gwen Haley of Hernando and Margie Whitehead of Cold Water; and two brothers, Paul S. Jones of Collierville, Tenn. and Deniour Jones of Atlanta, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev. D.W. Jones Sr. and Rhonda Barnes Jones; four sisters, Fobus Cornelous, Helen Gant, an infant sister and Ruth Hill; and four brothers, Robert Jones, Hebron Jones, Joseph Jones and Rev. G.D. Jones.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be D.C. Whitehead, Doyle Hill, Alvin Whitehead, J.W. Moore, Dizzy Johnson and Toney Brown.

CORINTH – Carl Fillmore Coln, 85, died Saturday, April 23, 2011, at his home. Mr. Coln was a member of Northside Church of Christ. He was a retired self employed master mechanic for farm tractors. He was a Veteran of the United States Army during WWII and a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W.
Services, with military honors, will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday at McPeters Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Lennis Nowell and Bro. Bill Wages officiating. Burial will be in Lorraine Cemetery in McNairy County, Tenn. McPeters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a son, David Coln (Barbara) of Corinth; three daughters, Sandra Brawner (Brandon), Ann Smith (Dennis), both of Corinth and Theressa Howie (Stan) of Iuka; one brother, Jack Coln of Chattanooga, Tenn.; two sisters, Jewel Hubbard of New Brunswick, N.J. and Mary Ruth Chandler of Parkridge, Ill.; seven grandchildren, Rachel Shaw, Brad Brawner, Maranda McLemore, Patrick Coln, Jessica Coln, Denny Smith and Jay Smith; six great-grandsons, Hunter Shaw, Chase Shaw, Sage McLemore, Jake Smith, Trevor Smith and Tayton Smith.
He was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Mildred Coln; his second wife, Maxine Coln; a stepson, Jerry Crooks; a grandson, Marcus Tucker; a brother, Roy Coln; and his parents, George H. and Myrtle Bray Coln.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 2 p.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.
