TUPELO – Annie Sneed died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at her home in Tupelo. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Agnew and Sons Funeral Home of Verona.
CORINTH – Onella “Nell” Berry, 83, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at the Cornerstone Health and Rehab in Corinth.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at McPeters Funeral Directors Chapel. Burial will follow in the City Cemetery. McPeters Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be noon until service time today at the funeral home.
MANTACHIE – Sandra Jean Powell, 64, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at her home. She was born Nov. 24, 1947. She was a member of Living Water Community Church. She previously was an office manager for LDDS telecommunications. She enjoyed reading, gospel music, singing, her dachshunds, Daisy and Sissy and spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p. m. Tuesday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Mantachie with Bro. Horace Barnes and Bro. James Marks officiating. Burial will be in the Freewill Baptist Church cemetery in the Eggville community.
Survivors include her husband of 46 years, William Ernest Powell; one daughter, Melissa Smith (Phillip) of Mantachie; two sons, William Alan Powell of Mantachie and Chad Powell (Karen) of Dorsey; one sister, Denise Blaylock of Amory; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; three nephews; and several great-nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one daughter-in-law, Renee Powell; and her parents, Sidney Dobbs, Jr., and Clara Mae Reed Isabell.
Pallbearers will be Zack Perkins, Blake Perkins, Cory Powell, Zack King, Dustin Smith and Ethan Perkins.
Honorary pallbearers will be her great-grandsons.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m tonight at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Mantachie.
TUPELO – Harold L. Boyd, 88, died Sunday, April 8, 2012, at Sanctuary Hospice House. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors.
TUPELO – Earlene Johnson Hill died Wednesday, April 4, 2012, at Golden Living Center. She was born to Eugene and Sarah Little Johnson, in Dekalb. She was a member of North Green Street Church of Christ, where she served faithfully. She retired from the North Mississippi Mdical Center.
A life celebration service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at North Green Street Church of Christ with Pastor Daniel McCollum officiating. Burial will follow at Porter’s Memorial Park. Grayson-Porter’s Mortuary is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by her brother, George (Lorine) Johnson of Shannon; a goddaughter, Gwenda (Herman) Martin of Tupelo; stepchildren, Harrell Hill, Barbara Ann Hill and Russal Hill of Tupelo; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Cliff Hill.
Visitation is 3 to 5 p.m. today at the J.W. Porter’s Chapel. The body will lay in repose one hour prior to service on Tuesday.

BALDWYN – Charles “Charlie” Noel Kent, 63, died Saturday, April 7, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born in New Albany and spent most of his life residing in Baldwyn. He was a building contractor in the Baldwyn Area for many years. He was an avid crappie fisherman, fishing guide and loved to hunt quail and deer.
Services will be at 7 p.m. today at Waters Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy Whitaker officiating with Ray Looney and Tommy Boxx delivering the eulogy. Burial will be in the Lebanon Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Pam Kent of Baldwyn; sons, Ray Looney of Columbus and Tommy Boxx of Madison; sister, Charlotte Dillard of New Albany; and grandchildren, Alex Boxx, Walker Kent, Tyler Looney, Caroline Looney and Hannah Looney.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jimmie Louis Kent. Son; Charles Jason Kent.
Pall bearers will be James Downs, Dean White, Mark White, Freddie Ashmore, John Woods and Danny Lawrence.
Visitation will be 4 p.m. until service time today.
CLARKSDALE – Sally Jean Smith Goodson, 82, died on Saturday, April 7, 2012, at North West Mississippi Medical Center, in Clarksdale. She was born April 5, 1930, to Sally Lou Griffin and Ebert Nathaniel Smith, Sr. in Houston. She was a homemaker and of Baptist faith. She was married to James W. “Dutch” Goodson, who preceded her on July 14, 2001.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Wayne Mathis officiating. Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery near Hamilton. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her son, William Goodson (Evelyn) of Clarksdale; three grandchildren, Dawn Johnson, Patricia Presley and Jerry Tierney; two great-grandchildren, Grant Cooley and Cody Bentley; and her sister, Dorothy Tate of West Point.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Elbert N. “Sonny” Smith Jr.; five sisters, Annie Carter, Susie Mae Goodson, Betty Crisler, Bobbie Lee Yesner, and Hazel Smith.
Pallbearers will be Dennis Johnson, Grant Cooley, Cody Bentley, Johnny Tate, Michael Smith and Mark Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Pat Burke and staff of N.W.M.M.C.
Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. today at Calvert Funeral Home in West Point.
