IUKA – Annie Lou Cummings, 93, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen. Burial will follow in Antioch Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Vertie Mae Wicker
MOOREVILLE – Vertie Mae Wicker, 70, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at her residence after an extended illness. She was born Nov. 17, 1939, in Marked Tree, Ark., to Martin Hillard and Hattie Pearl Sharp Carney. She grew up in Hardin County, Tenn., and moved to Mooreville in 1963. She was married to Roy Wicker who died Sept. 18, 1985. She was retired from Allsteel. She enjoyed going to yard sales and spending time with her grandkids. She loved her dog, Bob. She lived for her family.
Services will be at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Ronnie Martin officiating. Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Pisgah Cemetery near Michie, Tenn., with visitation at the Pisgah Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Tammy L. Wilson (Boyce) and Melissa A. Hulsey (Lee); one son, Danny W. Wicker (Lori); one stepson, Ronnie Wicker; her sister-in-law, Margaret Farley; six grandchildren, John Griffin, Candace and Craig Wilson, B.J. and Jesse White, and Whitney Hill; two great-grandsons, Brandon Cooley and Darrin Griffin; one great-granddaughter, Cadence Griffin; special friends here, Elwanda McDonald, Shirley Dye and Linda Hogue; special friends back home, Maudie, Faye and Jean; and a special cousin, Jeanette Bowden.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy A. Wicker; and two half brothers, Clinton and Cliff Carney.
Pallbearers will be Tim Wicker, Tommy Wicker, Bill Parmely, Leon Hulsey, G.W. Dye and Norman Reed.
Visitation will be from 3 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

FULTON – Janice Gail Colburn, 60, died Monday, Dec. 14, 2009, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. A native of Itawamba County, she was the daughter of David and Hattie Colburn. She was a member of Green Street Church of Christ in Tupelo. A sports fan, she loved church and her grandchildren.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at Green Street Church of Christ. Burial will be at Fulton Community Cemetery. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by two sons, Fredrick Colburn and Lance Colburn, and one daughter, Chanell Lacey, all of Fulton; four brothers, David (Dorothy) Colburn of Memphis, Harold (Flora) Colburn and William (Addie) Colburn of Tupelo, and Namon (Sharon) Colburn of Houston; two sisters, Nancy Harris of Fulton and Minnie (Michael) Jones of Tupelo; and four grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the church.
Mae Belle Dilworth
CORINTH – Mae Belle Dilworth, 86, died Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church in Kossuth. Burial will be Monday at Corinth National Cemetery. Grayson’s Funeral Service is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
HOLLY SPRINGS – Dewey Hardeman Pannell, 87, died Friday, dec. 18, 2009. He was born Sept. 22, 1922, in Marshall County to Jesse Pannell and Mary Allen. He was a Baptist and a veteran. He was a preacher and also worked at Metal Craft, Wurlitzer and Frehauf.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Holly Springs Funeral Home. Bro. Don Labelle will officiate. Burial will be in Clear Creek Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Faye Yeager Pannell of Holly Springs; four daughters, Emma Davis of Mt. Pleasant, Barbara Cook (William) of Ashland, Wanda Clements (Jerry) of Somerville, Tenn., and Mary Reissinger of Memphis; 11 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
RIENZI – Hilda Dare Sherard Brawner, 85, died Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth. She was born May 26, 1924. She was retired from ITT, where she worked for 32 years. She was a member of Wheeler Grove Baptist Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. today at the Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories in Corinth. Bro. Ray Bennett and Dr. Kara Blackard will officiate. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Billy Brawner of Rienzi; one daughter, Brenda Edwards and husband, David, of Corinth; grandchildren, Brian Edwards and wife, Donna, Brad Edwards and wife, Tefinie, Robin Johnson and husband, Brian, and Ben Wilkinson; great-grandchildren, Bethany Johnson, Ali Johnson, Billy Johnson, Emma Kate Edwards, Sarah Beth Edwards, Hannah Edwards and Hallie Edwards; brothers, Gilbert Sherard and wife, Martha, of Kossuth, Leon Sherard and wife, Anita, of Olive Branch; sisters, Betty Rhodes and husband, Harold, of Bartlett, Tenn., Agnes Glisson of Kossuth, and Anne Allen and husband, James, of Kossuth; a son-in-law, Jimbo Wilkinson and wife, Debora, and daughter, Amy, of Corinth.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Carolyn Wilkinson; her father, Ben Sherard; her mother, Ethel McElhannon Sherard; a brother, Alton Sherard;
Pallbearers will be Keith Sherard, Mike Rhodes, David Sherard, Kenneth Brawner, Bobby Sweeney, Tony Morton and Max Brawner. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Dilworth, Tommy Melvin, Milton Barker and Dr. Hardwick Kay.

BOONEVILLE – Conrad Wardell Bishop, 78, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo.

OKOLONA – Donna Lynn Ross Newcomb, 41, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford after a brief illness. She was born Jan. 9, 1968, in Shelby County, Tenn., to Emmett and Melberlene Brown Ross. She was a member of Richmond Pentecostal Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed playing with her grandkids.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with the Rev. Danny Finney officiating. Private burial will follow in the Union Grove Church of God of Prophecy Cemetery near Mooreville.
Survivors include one son, James Anthony Newcomb of Okolona; two daughters, Tonya McMillen (Chris) of Marietta and Raquel Cheree Newcomb of Mooreville; four brothers, Ervin Ross and Ricky Ross, both of Okolona, Ronnie Ross (JoNell) of Saltillo and Terry Ross (Dorothy) of Guntown; three sisters, Janelle Ross Joshlin and Cheryl Whitfield (Kenny), both of Okolona, and Wanda Grimes (Eldon) of Mooreville; two grandchildren, Gracie Alexis McMillen and Christopher Haiden McMillen, both of Marietta.
Pallbearers will be Michael McMillen, Blake Harlen, Terry Loyd and John McMillen.
Visitation will be at the Tupelo Chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. today and from noon to service time Sunday.
ASHLAND – Carrie Lee Graves, 98, died Friday, Dec. 18, 2009, at Trinity Mission Nursing Home in Byhalia. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by McBride Funeral Home of Ripley. Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Beech Hill Church of Christ in Ashland.
SHANNON – Sadarius Johnson, 16, died Wednesday, Dec.16, 2009, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo as the result of a pedestrian/automobile accident. He was born on Sept. 2, 1993. He confessed his faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Union Baptist M.B. Church. He was a member of the youth choir and served on the usher board. He was a sophomore at Shannon High School, where he was a member of the Honor Choir and a manager for the football team. He enjoyed sports and singing.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Monday at Shannon High School Gymnasium. The Rev Kenneth Jernigan will officiate. Burial will be at Union Baptist Church Cemetery in Shannon. Fields Funeral Home of Okolona is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Ketra Johnson; two sisters, Tomeka Johnson and Dollie Johnson, both of Shannon; one brother, Jevoris Clark of Tupelo; three aunts, Cindy Goree, Lakhala Goree and Lakeela Goree, all of Shannon; his grandparents, Willie T. and Margaret Johnson of Shannon; and his godmother, Sharon Holmes.
He was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, T.C. and Minnie Johnson; his grandmother, Josephine Topps; one aunt, Jacqueline Rogers; and one great-aunt, Bernice Vaughn.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday and family hour will be from 5 to 6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. The body will lie in state at the gymnasium one hour prior to service.
