TUPELO – Eunice White Winders, 88, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at Aliceville Manor Nursing Facility in Aliceville, Ala. She had moved to Aliceville in September 2008 to be near her son. A native of Burnsville, she was born July 21, 1921, to Victor and Evelyn White. She graduated from Burnsville High School and then attended Florence State Teachers College (now University of North Alabama) in Florence. She was a longtime resident of Tupelo, moving here after her marriage to Jolly Winders in 1942. She was a longtime member of Tupelo Free Will Baptist Church. She spent most of her life taking care of others. She worked for Dr. Ozzie Drummond as a dental assistant and retired from the Tupelo School System in 1972 after working as a dietitian and managing cafeterias at Bissell School, Joyner School and Milam/Tupelo High School.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with her son, the Rev. Tommy Winders, and her grandson, the Rev. Brian Winders, officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her daughter, Rae Winders Cole (Bill) of Sebring, Fla.; her son, the Rev. Tommy Winders (Diane) of Carrollton, Ala.; two brothers, Vic White (Lessell) of Denton, Texas, and Jerry White (Louise) of Reidsville, Ga.; four grandchildren, Kristi Winders Campbell (Jeff) of Prairieville, La., Kendra Cole Freeman (Rodney) of Basking Ridge, N.J., Carissa Cole Croy (Marshall) of Irondale, Ala., and the Rev. Brian Winders (Tonya) of Hendersonville, Tenn.; 14 great-grandchildren, Lyndsey and Mary Ashton Campbell of Prairieville, La., Emily, Kacie, Kellie and Nathan Freeman of Basking Ridge, N.J., Abigail, Caleb and Joshua Croy of Irondale, Ala., and Kaleb, Kaylee, Karis, Katelyn and Karson Winders of Hendersonville, Tenn.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 49 years, Jolly Winders; her brother, James White; and a sister, Virginia Marlar.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Campbell, Marshall Croy III, Rodney Freeman, Bobby Hall, David Hall and Steve Turberville.
Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Brown, Mike Chase, Ed Crider, Jimmy Crocket, Robert Post and Donald Winders.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service time Saturday and immediately following the service at the funeral home.

Eura Mae Fisher
TUPELO – Eura Mae Fisher, 75, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at her home. She was born on March 14, 1934 to Fannie Lee (Sampson) Bell and Sam Bell, Sr. She was a member of the North Green Street Church of Christ. She always spoke of her days as supervisor in housekeeping at Providence Hospital and her talents in cosmetology while living in Chicago, Ill. She was a special friend to all and a loving neighbor in the Parkhill Community for several years. She always took pride in the relationships she had with her family and her adopted family. She was a devoted mother, aunt, sister and friend.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the North Green Street Church of Christ with the Rev. Willie B. Sampson, Jr officiating. Burial will be in Porter’s Memorial Park. Grayson-Porter’s Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her two sons, Rev. Charles (Rev. Billy Gene Tutor
SALTILLO – Billy Gene Tutor, 76, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born August 19, 1933, in Springville to Vester and Maudie Tutor. He was a self employed truck driver for 25 years. He was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church and the American Legion. He enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing, horseback riding, hunting and riding motorcycles. He served in the Army during the Korean Conflict.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Lee Memorial Chapel with Rev. Billy Foley officiating. Burial will be in Lee Memorial Park with Military Honors.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Carolyn Tutor of Saltillo; one son, Billy A. Tutor (life partner Mike) of Nashville; three daughters, Nancy C. (Wayne) Frideres of Guntown, Tammy J. (Samuel) Steele of Saltillo and Tina M. Tutor (Wayne) Parker of Saltillo; two brothers, Wade Tutor and Bobby Tutor; one sister, Judy Tutor; two nieces, Patti King and Becky King; one great niece, India King; three great nephews, Russ Rakestraw, Reed Allen and Cain Allen; two grandchildren, Madison and Michael Steele; four step-grandchildren, Brandon Frideres, Jon Frideres, Andrew Parker and Cory Parker; and three step-great-grandchildren, B.J. Sonny Fairchild Sr.
MCMINNVILLE, Tenn. – Hansford Sylvester “Sonny” Fairchild Jr., 79, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009. A native of Tupelo, he was born Oct. 29, 1930, to Hansford Sylvester Fairchild Sr. and Evelyn Tate Fairchild. He married Martha Wildman Fairchild on July 15, 1961. He was a retired businessman and the owner of Woodcarver. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at High’s Funeral Home Chapel. Family and friends will officiate. Military honors will be by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Fairchild; one daughter, Delores Fairchild of Huntsville, Ala.; one son, Hansford Fairchild III (Christy) of McMinnville, Tenn.; two grandsons, Hansford S. “Ford” Fairchild IV and Austin Fairchild, both of McMinnville; one brother, Wayne Fairchild (Bettie) of Shreveport, La.; one sister, Margie Tyler of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.

TUPELO – Regina Dawn Givhan Partlow, 32, died after a sudden illness Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009 in Tupelo. She was born in Tupelo on April 30, l977, to the late Philip R and Jackie Sue Hodges Givhan. She graduated from Tupelo High School in l995. She was a floral designer in the family business, Tupelo Floral, and ran the business upon the death of her parents. A devout Christian, she worshiped at The Church at Trace Crossing in Tupelo and, when visiting in Huntsville with her sisters, at The Rock Family Worship Center. She was devoted to her best friend, her husband, Kevin and was supportive of all his professional and personal pursuits. Together, they were avid Alabama sports fans and often attended many amp”Roll Tideamp” sporting events. She loved children everywhere and was especially fond of her nieces and nephews. She enjoyed computer research and loved and lived life to the fullest.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Monday at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Pastor Rusty Nelson officiating assisted by Pastor Kevin Wood. Her husband, Kevin, will pay special homage as will other family members. A private burial will be in Lee Memorial Park.
Survivors include her husband, Kevin Partlow of Tupelo, to whom she married Oct. 10, l998; her sisters, Michele Benson (Mark) and Kimberly Aube (Patrick) all of Huntsville; her nieces and nephews, Taylor , Griffin, Camryn, Madalynne, and Presleigh; and her sisters in law, Marlaina Partlow and Libby Partlow, both of Pontotoc, and Haley Robinson (Eddie) of Booneville.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Philip and Jackie Givhan; and her in-laws, Martha and Ben Partlow.
Honorary pallbearers will be her nieces and nephews and her brothers-in-law, Mark, Pat and Eddie.

CORDOVA TENN. – Bobby Wayne Robinson, 73, died Tuesday, Dec. 22, 2009, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis after an extended illness. He was born February 19, 1936, in Prentiss County to the late Howard and Pauline Lytal Robinson. He was a 1958 graduate of Ole Miss where he was captain of the 1957 basketball team. He moved to Memphis where along with his brother Bill, founded the Rebel Equipment and Supply Company, named after his love for his alma mater. He was a member of the M Club, the Ole Miss Alumni Association, and Pi Kappa Alpha. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Memphis and the Memphis Jaycees. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a former member of the Mississippi Army National Guard.
Services will be 3 p.m. Monday at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Bill Presley officiating. Burial will be in the Booneville Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Bettye Gordon McGee Robinson; two daughters, Stephanie (Terry) McFarland of Germantown and Jennifer (David) Mensi of Cordova; one brother, Bill (Peggy) Robinson of Germantown; and three grandsons, Robert Burress IV, Sthephen Burress, and Jonathan Mensi.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Marie Miller.

MOOREVILLE – Mary L. Gale, 59, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at the North Mississippi Medical Center after an extended illness. A Pontotoc County native, she was born Dec. 22, 1950, to Lonnie Tallant and Betty Denton Tallant Wilhite. She was raised in Ecru but lived most of her life in Mooreville. She worked as a supervisor in the furniture industry and later drove a truck for Destiny Carriers. She enjoyed country and western dancing and won numerous trophies with her husband in competitions. She loved going to Tunica with her family. She was married to Preston amp”P-nutamp” Gale who died Feb. 14, 2005. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She attended Koinonia Baptist Church.

HOUSTON – Franklin D. “Ray” Washington, 69, died Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford. He was born on March 10, 1940, to John Ivy Washington and Julia Funderburk McCammon. He was a native of Chickasaw County. He retired from International Paper after 35 years of service. He also owned Washington Mobile Home Park in Houston. He was a member of the Thorn Church of God.

PITTSBORO – Ruth Easley, 87, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at Calhoun Health Services Nursing Home in Calhoun City. She was a devoted family member who will be missed by her brothers and sisters, and nieces and nephews. She retired from Home Insurance Company in Jackson. She was a member of Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Bruce. She was a member of the D.A.R., the Homemakers Club, and she was a former nursing home volunteer.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Parker Memorial Funeral Home in Bruce with the Elder Rusty Wise officiating. Burial will be in Oak Springs Cemetery.
She is survived by two sisters, Sue Martin of Pittsboro, and Maxine Wisenbaker of Houston, Texas; three brothers, Ed (Jo) Easley of Bruce, Jim (Donna) Easley of Columbus, Ohio, and Holly (Rita) Easley of Bruce; and a host of nieces and nephews.

WEST POINT – Bobby Charles Ming, 75, died, Friday, Dec. 25, 2009, at the Community Hospice-Darlington Oaks in Verona. He was a Veteran of the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He lived 25 years of his life in St. Louis before moving back home. He was employed as a Civil Engineer by the Holnan Corporation in Artesia. He was was born in Longview to parents Eva Lillian Cutts Ming and Troy A. Ming. He attended the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Starkville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. James Kelly Unger officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel one hour prior the service. There will be no graveside service. Burial will follow in West Point Memorial Garden Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.

BELMONT – Marshall Ray Ivey, 67, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at the Red Bay Hospital. He was born April 17, 1942, in Tishomingo County to Arlin and Ivean Spencer Ivey. He was an ironworker and a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam.

Belton Ray Brazil
FULTON – Belton Ray Brazil, 76, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009. He was born on February 24, 1933, in Itawamba County to Josh Sherman and Annie E. Crawley Brazil. He was retired from Dura Crates and Jesco where he worked in maintenance. He was a member of the Pine Grove Church of Christ. He was an avid fisherman.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jim Bryant officiating. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Onie Rea Brazil; one son, Tony Brazil (Kay) of Fulton; two daughters, Nella Bowden of Clarksdale and Lisa Jones (Terry) of Tupelo; one sister, Morine Barrett of Antioch, Ill.; eight grandchildren, Tonya German (Martin), Jeremy Bowden, Jordan Bowden, Josh Brazil (Kim), Leslie Brazil, Blake Jones, Parker Jones, and Hunter Jones; and seven great-grandchildren, Kyler, Brian Brazil, Zack Brazil, Mogan Bowden, Alex Floyd, Madison German, and Taylor German.

EUPORA – Hilda Ann Barker, 72, died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2009, at the North Mississippi Longtime Care Center in Eupora.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Gregg (Joe) of Slate Springs; four sons, Charles Wayne Barker of Olive Branch, Thomas Earl Barker of Memphis, Perry Lewis Barker of Tupelo and James Rickey Barker of Pontotoc; three sisters, Sarah Morris of Grenada, Lorane Clements of Grenada and Faye McCombs of Bruce; one brother, Everett Hill of Jackson; 19 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-granchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Otho and Avie Cantrell Hill; her husband, A.L. “Booger” Barker; one sister; and two brothers.
Pallbearers will be Jerry Vance, Corey Vance, Lindon Hill, Daniel West, Greg Lovorn and Chuch Lovorn.
Visitation will be at noon Sunday at the funeral home.
LA PRAIRIE, ILL. – Robert Edward “Ed” Trantham, formerly of Belmont, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at Blessing Hospital after a year long fight with cancer.
Services will be Monday at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Golden, Ill. The Hamilton Funeral Home in Augusta is in charge of the arrangements.
Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Shellie Ray Rose
HOLLY SPRINGS – Shellie Ray Rose, 80, died Monday, Dec. 21, 2009, at the Colony Home in Denton, Texas. He was a church deacon and a manager at Sunbeam Manufacturing. He was born on April 10, 1929, to Jessie Rose and May Miller. His hobbies included: woodworking, fishing, and gardening.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today at Holly Springs Funeral Home. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery in Holly Springs.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Rose; two daughters, Mary Whelan and Deborah Buehlman; one brother, J.C. Rose; one sister, Pansy McDaniel; seven grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; one step great-grandchild; and one step-great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from noon until service time today at the funeral home.

PONTOTOC – Thomas G. Wages, 81, died Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2009, at his home. He was a loving father and grandfather. He was a retired Air Force Veteran.
Services will be 6 p.m. Sunday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Dennis Wages officiating.
Survivors include his children, Karen, Kim, Tammy and Tom; his grandchildren, Audrey, Amanda, Ashley, Dani, Zeph, Matthew and Emily; and his great-grandchild, Everett.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; and his daughter, Jodelle.
