OXFORD – Daniel Joseph McCormick, 20, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. He was a student. He was a member of Philadelphia Baptist Church and Oxford Christian Home Educators. He loved hunting, fishing and sharing the love of Jesus.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Bobby Irvin officiating. A private family graveside service will follow at Eastover Memorial Cemetery. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his parents, Julie R. and Cary T. McCormick of Etta; two sisters, Elizabeth Grace McCormick and Mary Faith McCormick, both of Etta; two brothers, Caleb McCormick and Joshua McCormick. both of Etta; his grandmother, JoAnn Redden of Shreveport, La.; and his grandfather, Jack McCormick of Gulfport.

FULTON – Betty F. Nedweski, 65, died Saturday, Dec. 11, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born March 16, 1945, to Fred and Varnel Haire Lowder in Arkansas. She was a retired homemaker. She was member of Southern Hills Church of Christ and the Moose Club. She was an avid reader.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Senter Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Clyde Mize officiating. Burial will be in Union Grove Cemetery at Tilden.
Survivors include her husband, Ed Nedweski of Fulton; two sons, Danny McCurry of Fulton and Gary McCurry of Atlanta, Ga.; one daughter, Wanda Worth of Fulton; one brother, William Lowder of Fulton; three sisters, Naomi McElroy of Kenosha, Wis., Autrey Ragsdale of Fulton and Nell Rightings of Norman, Okla.; five grandchildren, Skyler, Wayne, Willis, Willum and Sharice; and one great -grandchild, Quinton.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Hazel Leclair and Martha Lefford; and two brothers, Richard and Jerry Lowder.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Clark Jr., Willis Coleman, Gary McCurry, Steve Lowder, Jeff Lowder and Johnny Ragsdale.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Wednesday.
NEW ALBANY – Dorothy Joyce Cobb Gray, 90, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at Pontotoc Hospital in Pontotoc. She was born March 24, 1920, in Union County to Henry and Mary Elizabeth Gement Cobb. She was a lifelong member of the Ingomar Baptist Church, serving as a teacher for Sunbeams and Sunday School and as a choir member for many years. She was a living testimony of her faith in her Lord Jesus Christ and a friend and servant to her family and many others.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the United Funeral Service Chapel with the Dr. Jeffrey Sweatt and Rev. Gary Linville. Burial will be in the Ingomar Cemetery. United Funeral Service in New Albany will be in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Garland Gray; a daughter, Ann Gray Krusec; two sons, Richard Gray (Linda) and Bill Gray (Lucy); five grandchildren, Amy Witcher (Stefan), Ellen Bresee (Mark), Mark Gray (Kayla), Lindy McManus (Ben) and Leslie Gray, three great-grandchildren, Isabella Claire Bresee, Brooks Chapin Bresee and Elizabeth Goodman Witcher; a sister, Mary Etta Simmons (James); numerous great-nephews and great-nieces, great-great-nephews and great-great-nieces, and great-great-great-nephews and great-great-great-nieces.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Etoyle Willard; three brothers, Ernest, Troy and James Cobb; and two nephews, Herbert Cobb and Billy Cobb.

SALTILLO – Beulah F. Capps, 79, died Monday, Dec. 13, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born in Nettleton on May 16, 1931, to Bailey and Kate Wright Harlow. She worked for many years at Marshall Durbin. She was a Baptist. She loved to word search, she enjoyed yard work, and she loved to gather with her family. Her favorite place was home.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues. Burial will be in Pine Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include seven children, Linda Ann Lovern (Hal), Larry W. Capps (Liza), Carnell Southard, Donnie Ray Capps (Janie), Terry Dewayne Capps, James Craig Capps (Connie) and Robert Earl Capps (Lynn); 13 grandchildren, Angie Parrish, Kim Comer, Tim Comer, Johnathan Capps, Natasha Capps, Ashley Floyd, James Capps, Larry Southard, Mary Southard, Jennifer Capps, James Ross Capps, Taylor Capps and Cynthia Capps; one brother, Billy Harlow; 13 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 29 years, James Russell Capps; her parents; two grandchildren, Doug Capps and James Capps.

MEMPHIS – James Richard Milam, 98, died on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, in Memphis. He was born on Jan. 16, 1912, in Memphis to Lillie Belle Davis and William Eli Milam. He graduated from Saltillo High School and attended the University of Mississippi. Mr. Milam began working for the Boy Scouts of America in 1946, retiring in 1976. As a professional Scout executive, he was responsible for nine counties and also managed the Yocona Camp. He had a strong love for and commitment to his church. He served as an elder at the First Presbyterian Church in Corinth for many years and was honored with the title of Elder Emeritus. He belonged to the Keenagers Group and for many years he was responsible for organizing and directing tours that took the group all over the U.S. He was recognized and honored by his community by being chosen Rotarian of the Year in 1992 and Corinth’s Citizen of the Year in 2002.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Presbyterian Church with Dr. Don Elliott and the Rev. Prentiss “Bud” Gordon officiating. Burial will follow in the Saltillo Cemetery. McPeters Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
He is survived by two sons, Bill Milam (Leslie) of Columbus and Bob Milam (Rita) Of Greenwood; three daughters, Ann Milam of Colorado, Joy Walker of Cordova, Tenn., and Kay Aguillon (Mike) of California; 17 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by Madge Beard Milam, the mother of his children; a brother, Eugene Milam; and two sisters, Troy McCombs and Lelia LaGarde.

HATLEY – Steven Dale Kennedy, 50, died on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born in Amory on Oct. 9, 1960, he was a son of Clara L. Kennedy and the late Jimmy Dale Kennedy. Kind-hearted and outgoing, he never met a stranger. He was a graduate of Hatley High School, Class of 1980. He had retired as a truck driver after 17 years with Birmingham Hide and Tallow. He was a member of Bigbee Baptist Church. Mr. Kennedy enjoyed gardening, working on various projects, listening to music by Alan Jackson and woodworking. He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Kennedy of Hatley; his mother, Clara Kennedy of Amory; daughter, Leslie Williams of Tupelo; son, Micheal Kennedy of Saltillo; stepsons, Adam and Nicholas Willhite of Amory; sister, Felicia (Tony) Dill of Hatley; brothers, Jeff (Dena) Kennedy and Brad (Dellynn) Kennedy, all of Hatley; grandchildren, Destiny Young, Jeremiah Williams and Tony Williams Jr.; and special nieces and nephew, GraceAnne, Taylor and JonBradley Kennedy, and Anna Kate and Cooper Crenshaw.

OXFORD – Pauline “Polly” Harris Bobitt, 87, died on Sunday, Dec. 12, 2010, at Graceland Nursing Home in Oxford. Born in Alabama on Sept. 25, 1923, she was a daughter of John and Lula Belle Simmons Harris. A focused, determined and fun-loving lady, Mrs. Bobitt was a homemaker. Having lived in Oxford since 1986, she was a member of First Baptist Church, Oxford. As a pastor’s wife, she was always very active in various church activities. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy. She enjoyed needlework, working in the yard, and loved her Pomeranians and cat.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Bro. Jack Maroon officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park.
She is survived by a daughter, Beverly (Thomas) Randle of Oxford; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; her special friend and caregiver, Edra Kennedy.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bro. Detroy Bobitt; son, Douglas Bobitt; grandson, Robert Troy Randle; and seven brothers.
