HERNANDO – Jane Willingham, 53, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto in Southaven.
A memorial service is tentatively planned for Jan. 14 at Hernando Presbyterian Church. Holly Springs Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Frances Box
RIPLEY – Frances Lynell Collins Box, 62, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at her home in Ripley. She was born on April 23, 1949, to Percy and Helen Collum Collins in Union. She was a homemaker and a member of Ripley Church of God.
Services will be at 10 a.m. today at McBride Funeral Home Chapel in Ripley with Bro. Willie Raines officiating. Burial will be in the Blue Mountain Cemetery. McBride Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Joe Gene Box of Ripley; two sons, Ricky Gene Box (Teresa) of Corinth and Tony Joe Box (Angie) of Ripley; one brother, Allen Collins (Debra) of Philadelphia; one sister, Brenda Faye Walker (Raymond) of Hickory; four grandchildren, Tiffany Nichole Box and Kevin Joe Box (Renae), both of Ripley, and Shelby Gene Box and Aleanxandra Lynne Box, both of Corinth; one great-granddaughter, Kaitlyn Brook Box.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Brian Collins, Chris Stone, Jerry Cockrell Jr., Carlos Box, Jimmy Box, Tommy Leopard Jr., Kevin Box and Shelby Box.
Honorary pallbearers will be Gene Stone and Larry Miller.

NEW ALBANY – Brenda Marie Walker, 52, died Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at Graceland Care Center of New Albany.

Emmett Bigham
PHEBA – Emmett Roland “Sonny” Bigham, 55, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point. Emmett Roland Bigham was born Jan. 13, 1956, in Mathiston to Peggy Jean Boyette and Emmett Bigham. He was a supervisor in tankage at Bryan Foods for 19 years and later he worked at Mississippi State University as an animal care technician in research. He was a member of Pheba Baptist Church. He was a veteran of the Army National Guard, serving during the 1970s.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel in West Point with the Rev. Terry Rhodes officiating and Byron Davis assisting. Burial will follow in Pheba Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his daughter, Emily Bigham of Amory; two sons, Dwayne Bigham of Cedar Bluff and Jason Bigham of Pheba; five grandchildren, Mickie Jo Bigham, Breanna Bigham, Alex Bigham, Gage Bigham and Josilynn McKinney; his parents, Emmett and Peggy Jean Boyette Bigham of Pheba; two sisters, Barbara Philips (Lamar) of Van Vleet and Brenda Washington (Bob) of Pheba; four brothers, Lynn Bigham (Louise), Dale Bigham and Patrick Bigham, all of Pheba, and Royce Bigham (Linda) of West Point.
Pallbearers will be Jason Bigham, Dwayne Bigham, Nicholas Bigham, Lamar Bigham, Royce Bigham, Dale Bigham and Robert Palmer.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Mack Roberts, Cecil Adcock, Don Hubner and his friends in the Pheba community.

John Scott
AMORY – John Ebb Scott, 51, died on Wednesday, Dec. 14, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo. Born on Feb. 17, 1960, in Tupelo, he was a son of Lucy Bourland Scott and the late F. Wallace Scott. He was a graduate of Amory High School, Class of 1978, and a graduate of Northeast Mississippi Junior College. He married Wanda Pippin on Nov. 11, 1988. A gentle yet strong man, he had worked for Donald Fly Electric, JESCO for 16 years, and worked with his brother, Ben, the last few years. He was a member of First United Methodist Church. Being very talented, he enjoyed working with his hands. A man of few words, he had a great sense of humor, was creative and artistic. His dog, Annie, was his faithful friend. He enjoyed working in his shop, making stained glass and copper flowers, and listening to oldies rock ‘n’ roll.
He is survived by his wife of 23 years, Wanda P. Scott, and daughter, Christina Jean Scott, of Amory; mother, Lucy B. Scott of Amory; sisters, Lynn Haley (Johnnie) of Amory, Dale Stanford and Semmie Wicker (Tom), of Tupelo; brother, Ben Scott (Minnie) of Amory; and nieces and nephews, John and Scott Haley; Claire and Luke Stanford, Camille, Benjamin, Dylan Scott and Abby Christian.
A Celebration of Life Service will be at 11 a.m. today at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with the Rev. Warren Coile officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Gary Pippin, Scott Haley, Luke Stanford, Anthony Bowen, Jerry Word, Dale Fullerton, Donald Fly and James Pippin.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. today at the funeral home.

Etoyce Pilcher
NEW ALBANY – Elsie Etoyce Littlejohn Pilcher, 87, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-North Mississippi in Oxford. She was born Nov. 17, 1924, in Union County to Billie E. Littlejohn and Myrtis Reid Littlejohn. She was a retired employee of Futorian Manufacturing, where she worked as a order status clerk. She was a member of the Liberty Schoolhouse Club, Relay for Life and the Liberty Baptist Church. She liked arts and crafts, traveling, and she loved her flowers.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Liberty Baptist Church with the Rev. Jason Pilcher, the Rev. Mike Powell and the Rev. Glen Reeder officiating. Burial will be in the Liberty Cemetery. United Funeral Service in New Albany is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by her daughter, Brenda Carr of New Albany, two sons, Johnny Pilcher (Marie) and Neal Pilcher (Lynda), both of New Albany; two sisters, Opalene Dunlap of New Albany and Faye McCullough of Blue Springs; a brother, Kenneth Littlejohn of Benton, Ark.; nine grandchildren, Tammie Reeder (Glen), Mark Carr, Chris Carr, Scott Pilcher (Amy), Kevin Pilcher (Beverly), Jason Pilcher (Valerie), Benja Johnson (Ben), Ginger Stiles (Sam) and Allen Pilcher (Jessica); 16 great grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ellis Pilcher; a sister, Edith Reed; and a son-in-law, Travis Carr.
Pallbearers will be Mark Carr, Chris Carr, Scott Pilcher, Kevin Pilcher, Allen Pilcher, Ben Johnson and Sam Stiles.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will lie in state from 1 p.m. to service time Sunday at Liberty Baptist Church.

April Reithel
OXFORD – April Nichelle Reithel, 29, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at her home in Oxford. Born in Portales, N.M., she was a graduate of Oxford High School. She attended the University of Mississippi. She was the head veterinary technician at Crossroads Animal Hospital, where she worked for nearly 10 years. She touched many lives in the community through her love for pets and people. She was a cherished daughter, sister, family member and friend and will be greatly missed by all those who were blessed to have known her.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9 until 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Survivors include her parents, Vicki and Brian Reithel of Oxford; one sister, Ruby Reithel of Oxford; one brother, Dylan Reithel of Oxford; grandparents, Harriet and Don Bell of Clovis, N.M., and Louise E. Reithel of Albuquerque, N.M.; and great-grandmother, Marilyn Collins of Prescott, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by a grandfather, Robert J. Reithel, in 1998 and a sister, Alexis Reithel, in 1985.

MICHIGAN CITY – Linda Ruth Miller, 76, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at Trinity Missions in Holly Springs. She was born Sept. 27, 1935, in Union County. She was a member of Hickory Grove Baptist Church and a retired seamstress.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Holly Springs Funeral Home with Bro. Bobby Williams officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Ashland.
Survivors include her son, Jackie Miller (Donna) of Holly Springs; four daughters, Deborah Yager (David) of Moscow, Tenn., Teresa York (Bill) of Cleveland, Sandy Lusk of Memphis and Amy Steele (Marc) of Ashland; two brothers, Ivan Bevill of Florence and Gary Bevill of Michigan City; 15 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lamar Miller; a son, Ronnie Miller; a daughter, Kathy Carpenter; a granddaughter, Angela Curtis; and her parents, Toy and Audrey Sullivan Bevill.

Billy Ray Gann
BELMONT – Billy Ray Gann, 72, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at his residence. He was a native of New Site and a mechanic for 50 years. He attended Belmont United Methodist Church.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Belmont United Methodist Church with Bro. Greg Forbus officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife, Vera Gann of Belmont; two children, Dennis Ray Gann of Dennis and Angie Stephens (Mike) of Golden; one stepdaughter, Natalie Wigginton (Phillip) of Saltillo; one sister, Alice Millstead of Belmont; four grandchildren, Haydn Gann, Mikenlee, Sydnee and Ella Kate Stephens; one stepgranddaughter, Veronica Wigginton; and two nieces, Amanda Millstead of Belmont and Lana Earnest of Tuscaloosa, Ala.

Launzada Carr
DENNIS – Launzada Carr, 83, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a native of Mississippi and a homemaker. She was a member of Liberty Church of Christ.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel at Belmont with Bro. Steven Hodgin and Bro. Tommy Carr officiating. Burial will be in Lindsey Cemetery at Dennis. Deaton Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are one son, Tommy Carr (Anita) of Rochester, Minn.; one daughter, Sue Hodgin (Kenny) of Dennis; five grandchildren, Steven Hodgin (Lisa), Todd Hodgin (Lori), Debbie Conolty (Bob), Monica Ichten (Brent) and Tim Carr (Tonya); 14 great-grandchildren, Josh Hodgin, Kelsey Hodgin, Bethany South (Chuck), Michael Hodgin (Christy), Lauren Pirtle (Nathan), Katelyn Conolty, Robert Conolty, Zach Ichten, Jenna Ichten, Alyssa Ichten, Bailey Carr, Timberly Carr, Sadie Carr and Lilly Carr; and four special great-great-grandchildren, Ally Hodgin, Redick South, Scheyer South and Hartley Tollard.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Wayne Carr; her parents, Henry Oscar Eaton and Ovie Bell Lester Eaton; and two brothers and two sisters.
Pallbearers will be Tim Carr, Michael Hodgin, Josh Hodgin, Nathan Pirtle, Chuck South and Chris Clay.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Deaton Funeral Home in Belmont and until service time on Sunday.

WEST POINT – Robert “Bob” Ganss, 84, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011, at the Anderson Medical Center in Meridian. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Calvert Funeral Home of West Point.

SALTILLO – Mary Helen Cox, 65, died Monday, Dec. 12, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center after a brief illness. She was a retiree from the Wal-Mart photo lab. Her passions were her family and her faith.
A life celebration service will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today at Liberty Pentecostal Church in Centerville. Bro. David Hendrix and Bro. Don Cartwright will preside.
Survivors include her children, Charles Paul Cox, Russell Norman Cox and Sabrina Leigh Cox; her brother, James Paul Bryson; her sister Polly Garnett; five grandchildren, Lindsay Daniel Earnst, Ian Kolbe Dae Cox, Christopher Dalton Cox, Charlie Elizabeth Cox and Caden Alexander Cox.
She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Harold Bryson, and her mother, Carmen Coggins Bryson.

HARDIN, Tenn. – James L. Franks, 77, died Friday, Dec. 16, 2011.

Mike Baker
VARDAMAN – Mike Baker, 73, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at the V.A. Hospital in Memphis. He was born Nov. 26, 1938, in Woodland. He was a retired press operator after 30 years at Dixie Wax Paper in Memphis. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Vardaman and a U.S. Army veteran.
Services will be at 2 p.m Sunday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Vardaman. Bro. Harold Robinson will officiate, and Bro. Jeff Gilder will assist. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Velma “Ruth” Voyles Baker of Vardaman, whom he married May 25, 1963; two daughters, Cynthia Gail Denley (Garry) of Horn Lake and Stephanie Carol Mareno (Julio) of Orlando, Fla.; one son, David Edward Baker (Kandy) of Houlka; one brother, Bro. Billy Earl Baker of Vardaman; a special niece, Cathy Dauzat of Vardaman; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mike Baker and Louise Whitt Baker, and a sister, Catherine Melton.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Dalton Baker, Devon Baker, Christopher Denley, Coley Denley, Paul Edmondson and Peyton Edmondson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Earl McGregor, the Coffee Shop Crew and nephews.

Billy Grant
TUPELO – Billy Grant, 96, died Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011, at his residence after an extended illness. A Bolivar County native, he was born Sept. 1, 1915, to Valley Alexander and Verna Lee Tweedle Grant. He worked as a courier for BancorpSouth for over 20 years.. He enjoyed writing, building bird houses, playing computer games, but most of all, spending time with his family who loved him and depended upon his wisdom and love.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. today at Lee Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Roger Smith officiating. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include four daughters, Bobbie Jaggers of Tupelo, Billie Poole (Buddy) of Hamilton, Carolyn Bratton (Butch) of Tupelo and Peggy Holley of Tupelo; 18 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous great-great-great-grandchildren; his caregiver, Paulette Hoskins
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 75 years, Opal Grant, who died Oct. 26, 2010; one daughter, Linda Russell, who died in 2006; two grandchildren, Phillip Heath Holley and Richard Thomas Poole III.
His grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will continue from noon until 1:30 p.m. today at the funeral home.
