Douglas Burton Jr.
HOLLY SPRINGS – Douglas Burton Jr., 61, died Thursday, Jan. 6, 2011, at Williams Medical Clinic in Holly Springs.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove M.B. Church in Red Banks. Burial will be in Cottrell Memorial Garden in Holly Springs. J.F. Brittenum amp& Son Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of arrangements.
The remains will lie in repose at the funeral home from 2 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 to 10:55 a.m. Tuesday at the church.
Graysen Mitchell
MYRTLE – Graysen Matthew Mitchell, 15, died Jan. 7, 2011, at his home.
Graysen was a blessing to all who came in contact with him with his uplifting spirit despite his life struggles. He will be dearly missed by all who love him. He was born July 24, 1995, in Jackson to Dr. Greg Mitchell and Christina L. Mitchell.
He enjoyed electronics, especially working on computers, using his iPhone, playing Xbox and working with robotics. He also liked riding his four-wheeler and horseback riding. He was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and has long been secure in the knowledge of his future.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at United Funeral Service with the Rev. Louie Williams and the Rev. Giles Lindley officiating. Burial will be in Vista Memorial Park in New Albany. United Funeral Service of New Albany is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his parents, Dr. Greg and Christina L. Mitchell of Myrtle; two brothers, Gavin James Mitchell and Garen Luke Mitchell, both of Myrtle; his paternal grandparents, Aubrey and Mary Anne Mitchell of McComb and Fae Berry of Moselle; and his maternal grandparents, Glenn and Joyce Landrum of Lucedale.
He is also survived by his godparents, Ken and Monica Howell of Orlando, Fla.; and his Nanny Gina of New Albany.
Pallbearers will be Dave Cherry, David Rainey, Chuck Browning, Eric Landrum, Kenny Howell, Dylan Lee, Ryan Williams and Dr. Don Barnett.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

FULTON – Freeda Lambert Smith, 83, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at the North

TREMONT – Christy Parmer Reynolds, 29, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, in Itawamba County as the result of an automobile accident. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by McNeece-Morris Funeral Home in Fulton.
Jamie Owens
BLUE SPRINGS – James Michael “Jamie” Owens, 25, died Jan. 4, 2011. He was born Jan. 7, 1985, in New Albany to Michael Owens and Mary Bramlett Owens.
He was a good-hearted person who enjoyed the outdoors, especially fishing and riding four-wheelers. He also loved his dogs.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Funeral Service with the Rev. Jason Pilcher officiating. Burial will be in Parks Cemetery. United Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his father, Michael Owens of New Albany; his mother Mary Bramlett Owens of Blue Springs; his paternal grandparents, Riley Jack Owens and Nellie Harrington of Hickory Flat; his maternal grandparents, Eugene and Rosa Nell Bramlett of Blue Springs; two sisters, Mary Elizabeth Owens and Ashley Michelle Owens of Blue Springs; a stepsister, Tonya Stegall of Pontotoc; a stepbrother, Kato Erickson of New Albany; and a half-brother, Randy Lynn Stinson of New Albany.
Pallbearers will be Lester Owens, Lester Owens Jr., Ronnie Owens, Kato Erickson, Joe Rodgers, Blake Lee and Fernando Pina.

Mary Presley
GOLDEN – Mary Zell Presley, 82, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at the North Mississippi Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 23, 1928, to Claude and Mary Lou King Smith. She worked for Smithville Garment for many years and at KD Metal in Belmont during the remainder of her working life. She was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in the Oakland Community. She enjoyed her dog, Poochie.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel in Fulton with Bro. Ferlon Baker officiating. Burial will be in Providence Cemetery in Tremont. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two sons, James W. Presley (Linda) of Bear Creek, Ala., and Jerry Presley of Booneville; four grandchildren, Dania Quinn of Hackelburg, Ala., Jamie Presley of Bear Creek, Ala., Joshua Presley of Ripley and Michael Presley of Golden; and five great-grandchildren, Jordan Franks, Tristan Quinn, Samantha Quinn, Candace Presley and Jessica Earnest.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Basil Presley; one son, Johnny Presley; one great-grandson, Gage Earnest Presley; three brothers, Fred, Tulon and Bud Smith; five sisters, Louise Crane, Mae Mink, Earlene Thornburg, Jenelle Hall and Verlon Osbirn; and her parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p. m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Bobby Morgan
BRANDON – Bobby Morgan, 66, died Friday, Jan. 7, 2011, at River Region Medical Center in Vicksburg after a sudden illness. He was born in the Auburn Community on Jan. 31, 1944, to Andrew Alden and Nancy Jane Gregory Morgan. Earlier in his life, he served in the Mississippi Army National Guard. He worked 17 years at Lewis Grocer Co. as a retail counselor and later established the Mamp&B Wholesale Company, a vending machine enterprise, serving the Jackson Metro area. He was a Baptist and an avid fisherman.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Steve Hurt officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Steffani Jenkins (David) of Jackson; two sons, Steven Morgan of Raymond and Michael Morgan of Brandon; one sister, Betty Perkins of Muscle Shoals, Ala.; two grandchildren, Dylan and Austin Jenkins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Diane Morgan, on March 4, 1994; one sister, Ouida Easter; and one brother, Billy Morgan.
Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Lavelle Breedlove
BRUCE – Eva Lavelle Tutor Breedlove, 78, died Jan. 8, 2011, at Calhoun Health Services Nursing Home in Calhoun City. She was born March 21, 1932, in Calhoun County. She was a member of Rocky Mount Baptist Church and a retired factory worker.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rex Wilburn officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Mount Cemetery in Pittsboro. Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include a host of cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leo and Ludie Jane Burt Tutor.

Rev. C.L. Cannon
NEW ALBANY – Rev. C.L. Cannon, 93, died Jan. 5, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Union County Hospital. He was a member of Oak Grove M.B. Church and a master mason.
He pastored churches in Union, Pontotoc and Lee Counties. He also pastored his home church, Oak Grove M.B. Church. He retired from Piper Industrial. He was married to Esther Erby Cannon, who preceded him in death in February 2009.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Oak Grove M.B. Church with the Rev. Charles Keys officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Beasley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his children, Mildred Melvin and the Rev. Don Cannon (Jannice) of New Albany, Annice Cannon, Jimmy Cannon (Mildred) of Phoenix, Ariz., Clarence Cannon (Helga), the Rev. Kenneth Cannon (Cheryl) and Ella Wade, all of Aurora, Ill., Hugh Cannon (Brenda) of Tupelo and Celia McWhorter (Pastor Marvin) of Blue Springs; a daughter-in-law, Rosa Cannon of California; one brother, Hugh L. Cannon of Milwaukee, Wis.; one sister, Bernice Weatherall of Milwaukee; 33 grandchildren; 58 great-grandchildren; and 32 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home. The body will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time Tuesday.

Billy Osborn
BURNSVILLE – Billy Osborn, 78, died Sunday, Jan. 9, 2011, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was an U.S. Army veteran and was a retired machinist for TVA. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Glen with Bro. Allen Osborn officiating. Buddy James will give the eulogy. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Glen is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 56 years, Edra Osborn of Burnsville; two sons, Stevie Osborn (Michelle) and Mitchell Osborn (Mary), both of Burnsville; three daughters, Tracy Roaten (Daniel) of Iuka, Andrea Tackett (Jack) of Burnsville and Allison Rorie (Terry) of Burnsville; two sisters, Shelby Grisham (Bobby) of Florence, Ala., and Shirley James (Buddy) of Iuka; one sister-in-law, Ruby Gaye Lambert of Chicago; 15 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer and Elle Mae Osborn.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Osborn, Lesle Osborn, Billy Russell Osborn, Josh Osborn, Dillon Rorie and A.H. Roaten.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

RIPLEY – Richard Adron Hill, 58, died Saturday, Jan. 8, 2011, at Tippah County Hospital in Ripley. He was born Jan. 6, 1953, to Adron Hill and Patricia Frazier Hill. He attended Falkner Baptist Church. Mr. Hill was a truck driver and a welder.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Keith Fox officiating. Burial will be in Falkner Cemetery. Ripley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Brenda Kay Reynolds Hill of Ripley; two sons, Shane Hill and Cory Hill, both of Ripley; five grandchildren, Caitlin Hill of Henderson, Tenn., and Kaylee Hill, Alex Hill, Chase Hill and Cole Hill, all of Ripley; six sisters, Janet Windester of Indianapolis, Robin Classon of Charleton, S.C., Roxanne Stark of Rincon, Ga., Carolyn Humphreys and Patricia Carter, both of Memphis, and Lynetta Hill of Gloster; and three brothers, Jerry Fields and Randy Riley, both of Memphis, and Frank Hill of Gloster.
Pallbearers will be Carley Lowery, Richard Fitgerald, Krishna Ravinuthala, Michael Wilson, Ned Akins, Gary Willis, Frank Perkins and Doc Glass.
Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Hill, Ricky Anglin, Dicky Anglin and Brian Hill.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
