ABERDEEN – Tommie Jean Shaw Miller, 82, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011 at the Meadows in Fulton. She was born Oct. 8, 1929, in Cuba, Ala. to Evan Shaw and Irene Walker Shaw. She lived most of her life in Aberdeen. She retired as a registered nurse from Gilmore Memorial Hospital in Amory and the nursing home. She attended nursing school at Rush Memorial Hospital and Nursing School in Meridian, Miss. She received her nursing degree from Charity Hospital in New Orleans, La. She was a member of the Aberdeen First Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel with Bro. Roy McKay officiating. Burial will be at Oddfellows Rest Cemetery. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Mary Ann Hanks and husband Jim of Port Gibson, Miss.; one son, Terry Miller and wife Mary Ann of Fulton, Miss.; four sisters, Mattie Timmerman of Milton, Fla., Nettie Brown of Gordo, Ala., Inez Moilan of El Paso,Texas, Earnestine McCrary of Moundville, Ala.; two brothers, James Russell Shaw and wife Jimmie of Gordo, Ala., Joe Shaw and wife Betty of Moundville, Ala.; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ira Grady Miller; and one brother William Rebel Shaw.
Pallbearers will be Mike Bunch and the Deacons of the First Baptist Church.
Visitation will be from 12 noon until service time today at Tisdale-Lann Memorial Chapel.

BOONEVILLE – Kathleen Manley, 83, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Jan. 19, 1928, to John and Sadie Carpenter. She attended First Baptist Church in Booneville and was a housewife.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Lynn Jones officiating. Burial will be in Oaklawn Memorial Park.
She is survived by one daughter, Rhonda (David) Horton of Falkner; two sons, Bobby (Pam) Manley of Booneville and James (Laura) Manley of Myrtle; one twin sister, Kate Myers of Thomasville, N.C.; six grandchildren, Kevin (Kayla) Manley, Blake Manley, Ross Horton, Katie (John) Estes, Leanna Horton, and Anna McDonald; and two great-grandchildren, Kaylee Estes and Caysen Judon.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Jack Manley and her parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m.today and until service time on Tuesday at the funeral home.

HOUSTON – James Willam Vaughan, 80, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center. Arrangements were incomplete and will be announced later by Memorial Funeral Home of Houston.
NEW ALBANY – Sallie Little Owen, 92, died Friday, Dec. 30, 2011, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Union County. She was born May 26, 1919, in the Bluff community to James Redmon and Ella Viola Little. She married Lawrence E. Owen on Feb. 25, 1940. She retired from Mattie Thompson Elementary as cafeteria manager. She was a member of Wells Chapel Church, and later in life attended Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church. Her heart was with her children and grandchildren. She loved reading and working puzzles.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Pleasant Ridge Baptist Church with the Rev. Don Wilson and the Rev. Dwight Faulkenbury officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Ridge Cemetery. United Funeral Service in New Albany is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two daughters, Joe Ann Reaves (Charles) of Rogers, Ark., and Sandra Williamson (Charlie) of Tupelo; two sons, Richard Owen (Sharon) of Andalusia, Ala., and Johnny Owen (Wanda) of New Albany, eight grandchildren, Lisa Reaves and Richard Reaves (Paula) of Rogers, Ark., Scott Williamson (Mignon) and Vanessa Turner (Chip) of Tupelo, Elizabeth Buchanan (Brad) of Brandon, Shay Owen, Hunter Owen (Heather), and Hope Owen of Andalusia, Ala., 10 great-grandchildren Spencer, Remington, and Avalon Reaves, Lauren, Lydia, and Luke Williamson, Jackson, Addison, and Karson Owen, and Barrett Buchanan. She leaves special friends Cheri Hobson, Earline Hall, Mary Etta Hill, Lucille Billings, Donna Thomas, Chris Robertson, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Lawrence Owen; three sisters, Gladys Medlin, Bonnie Jewel Foley, and Ella C. Goudy; and two brothers, Byrd Little and Joe Earl Little.
Pallbearers will be Scott Williamson, Richard Reaves, Chris Robertson, Hunter Owen, Eddie Goudy, and Roy Wayne Hodges.
Body will lie in repose from 10 to 11 a.m. today at the church.

HAMILTON – Shirley Miller Pounders, 65, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at her residence. She was born June 10, 1946, in Quitman County to Robert Hugh Miller and Gatha Faye Brown Miller. She lived most of her life in Monroe County and had lived in Hamilton since 1965. She was a beautician.
Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. today at McDuffa Cemetery with Ray Ingula officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband, Jesse Pounders of Hamilton; one son, Jesse Jerome Pounders (Gena) of Hamilton; three sisters, Bernice Jones of Amory, Helois Perkins (Clayton) of Batesville, Faye Cook (Rubel) of Nettleton; one brother, George Miller of Pearl; two grandchildren, Jacob and Hannah.
She was preceded in death by her parents and four brothers, Carl Miller, Boyce Miller, Billy Miller and Carlton Miller.

FALKNER – Waylon Ray Thomas, 37, died Sunday, Jan. 1, 2012, as the result of an automobile accident in Walnut. He was born Aug. 20, 1974, to Manuel and Carolyn Brown Thomas of Falkner. He was a member of Unity Baptist Church. He worked in construction.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Ripley Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ronnie Barefield officiating. Burial will be in the Unity Baptist Church Cemetery.
He is survived by his parents, Manuel and Carolyn Thomas of Falkner; two sisters, Kim Thomas (Chris) of Sherman and Amy Brock of Falkner; his grandmother, Beatrice Brown of Falkner; one niece, Ashton Thomas of Falkner; two nephews, Colton Rakestraw of Sherman and Weston Brock of Falkner.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, James Brown, Lowrey Thomas and Hattie Lou Thomas.

DENNIS – Sandra M. “Sandy” Lambert, 46, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born Feb. 14, 1965 in Red Bay, Ala. and was a housewife.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Belmont with Bro. Holley Tennison and Bro. Randy Buse officiating. Burial will be in Joel Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband of 23 years, Bob Lambert of Dennis; two sons, Michael David Lambert (Kara Lynn) and Jeffrey Allen Lambert all of Dennis; her mother, Helen Maxwell (Robert) of Tishomingo; her father David Pate (Gail) of Dennis; three sisters, Debbie Garrison of Iuka, Christy Shotts (Rocky) of Vina and Kimberly George (Benji) of Golden; her grandmother, Lessie Ree Pate of Dennis; a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, James and Cora Gasaway and Paul Pate.

CORINTH – William “Bill” Thomas, 87, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011, at the Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.
Services are set for 1 p.m. Tuesday, at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with burial in the White Sulphur Cemetery located at Pickwick State Park in Counce, Tenn.
