OXFORD – Zula Mae Margie James, 96, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Desoto in Southaven. Born in Oxford, she was a homemaker and the widow of Henry Burlon James Sr. She was a member of Springdale Freewill Baptist Church. She will be remembered as a wonderful and caring mother, grandmother and babysitter. Talented in the kitchen, she enjoyed cooking for her family, being outdoors gardening, fishing and camping, and spending time with her family.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Chapel of Waller Funeral Home with Dr. Ken White officiating. Burial will follow in Shiloh Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Ann Thweatt (Thomas) of Oxford; a son, Henry Burlon James Jr. (Mary Ann) of Southaven; 16 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

BOONEVILLE – Douglas Martin, 11, died Friday, June 8, 2012, at his home. He was born July 24, 2000. He was student at Booneville Middle School. He enjoyed playing in the water, the outdoors, the beach and his family. He taught all of those who knew him the purity of joy, happiness and love, and the lessons he taught will be forever ingrained in his family’s hearts.
Services are 2 p.m. today at McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jack Whitley officiating. Burial will be in Forked Oak Cemetery.
He is survived by his parents, Jennifer Martin and Kevin Ozbirn; two brothers, Julian Martin and Marcel “Trooper” Ockman V; his grandparents, Douglas and Barbara Martin of Booneville and Thomas and Jettie Ozbirn of Tishomingo; his great-grandmother, Lourine Lowrey of Burton; two aunts, Anna Martin of Booneville and Elizabeth Winstead of Gulfport; cousins, Johanna Martin and Joscalyn Pringle; and special family members, his stepfather, Marcel Ockman IV; stepgrandparents, Sharon and Marcel Ockman III; two aunts, Stacey (Keith) Rabkin and Shana (Chris) Lamey; cousins, Serena Rabkin, Kellyn Rabkin, Danielle Lamey and Maddie Lamey.

CORINTH – Sally Voyles Castile passed from this life to be with Jesus on Saturday, June 9, 2012, at her residence. She was a member of Harper Road Christian Church. She enjoyed traveling and being with family. Most of all, she loved being with her precious little grandchildren.
The service is set for 2 p.m. today at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Corinth with Bro. Earl McAnally officiating. Burial will follow in the Farmington Baptist Church Cemetery.
She is survived by her children, Shane (Mandy) Castile and Shana (Kerry) Cook; her grandchildren, Alise and Mazzie Castile, and Col and Ella Cook, all of Corinth; sisters, Susie (David) Rainey and Barbara (Bill) Strickland, all of Corinth, Lavonne (David) Griffin of Houston, Mary (James) Lunsford of Parson, Tenn.; the father of her children, Kenneth Castile of Corinth; sister-in-law, Lois McMichael of Oxford, Ala.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ezra and Goldie Gray Voyles, and brothers, Ezra Jr and Guy Voyles.

Johnny Frederick Sr.
TUPELO – Johnny Andrew Frederick Sr., 57, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Born March 24, 1955, he was the son of Alvis Arney and Etta Mae Young Frederick. He married Ruby Jean Westmoreland on Aug. 4, 1979. Known as “High Pockets,” he was a 1974 graduate of Hatley High School. He worked as a truck driver for Tango Transport and Kamp&K Trucking. A member of the Church of God of Prophecy, he was also a Mason and a Shriner and a member of the FFA. He enjoyed NASCAR, any kind of sport, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
A celebration of life service will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Ricky Pratt officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park.
Survivors include his wife, Ruby Jean Frederick of Tupelo; two daughters, Rebecca Lynn Webb of Aberdeen and Barbara Lynn Westmoreland (Danuel) of Tupelo; two sons, Johnny Andrew Frederick Jr. (Regina) of Wren and James Anthony Frederick of Tupelo; four sisters, Sue Buse (Robert) of Mantachie, Becky Frederick of Mantachie, Darnell Morris (Reggy) of Becker and Sandra Young of Memphis; eight grandchildren, Johnny Andrew Frederick III, Noah Alexander Frederick, Joshua Webb, Allen Webb, Annastasha Webb, Kimberly Webb, Aliyania Nieto and Gabrielle Nieto; a host of nieces and nephews; and special friends, Edward Roberts and Eunice McAllister.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Carl C. Westmoreland.

CORINTH – Martha Ruth Williams Bishop, 77, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Adamsville Healthcare.

NEW ALBANY – Rod Keelan Windham, 85, died Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Union Health and Rehabilitation Center in New Albany. He was born May 9, 1927, in Union County to John and Verna Garrett Windham.
Graveside service was Saturday, June 9, in Parks Cemetery. Baldwin Nowell Funeral Home of Pontotoc was in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by one daughter, Lorrie Sue Stokes (Gary); two sons, Randy Windham (Libby) and Brad Windham; five grandchildren, Michael Bramlitt (April), Josh Bramlitt (Tiffany), Brandi Windham, Christina Huckabey and Cody Donahue; one sister, Rosa Nell Bramlitt.
Pallbearers were Michael Bramlitt, Josh Bramlitt, Kevin Whitehead, Brad Windham, Joe Bryant and J.D. Roberts.
RED BAY, Ala. – John Wesley Blanton, 46, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at his residence. He was a native of Red Bay, Ala., and a construction worker. He was a member of Freewill Baptist Church in Red Bay.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Freewill Baptist Church in Red Bay with Bro. Steve Lindsay officiating. Burial will be in Red Bay City Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors are his wife, Regina Ann Cromeans Blanton of Red Bay, Ala.; two sons, John Blanton Jr. of Albuquerque, N.M., and Joshua Levi Blanton of Red Bay; stepson, Dustin Wilemon of Red Bay; his mother, Janet Garrison Wright (James) of Red Bay; his father, R.C. Blanton of Vina, Ala.; two brothers, Richard Charles Blanton (Donna) of Golden and Brian Keith Blanton of Honolulu, Hawaii; one sister, Rebecca Cheryl Gist of Decatur, Ala.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, George Franklin Blanton, Sarah Marguarette Blanton, Glover Garrison and Nople Garrison; and a stepson, Terry Wilemon Jr.

MYRTLE – Anna L. Jennings Davis, 93, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at Graceland Care Center in New Albany. She was born Aug. 7, 1918, in Myrtle to Ira and Elizabeth Williams Gaines. She was a member of the Enterprise Church of Christ and was retired from Futorian. She was “the rock” of her family.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany with the Rev. Jay Tidwell and the Rev. Mike King officiating. Burial will be in Enterprise Cemetery.
Survivors include two sons, Boone Jennings Jr. (Barbara) of Blue Springs and Richard Jennings (Kathy) of Myrtle; four daughters, Audrey Nell Clement (Bob) of Myrtle, Betty McNeely (Auzie) of Myrtle, Lawanda Russell (David) of Gallatin, Tenn., and Debbie Raines (Bill) of Nashville, Tenn.; 21 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, R.B. Jennings Sr. and Clayton Davis; five brothers and five sisters.

HATLEY – Mary Jean Jackson Cagle, 71, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at her residence in Hatley. She was born Oct. 4, 1940, to Hollis Jackson and Icie Belle Jackson in Monroe County. She was a lifelong resident of Monroe County. She retired as a seamstress at Sharp Garment.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hatley Cemetery with Bro. James Terry and Tim Wilson officiating. Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen is in charge of the services.
Survivors include her husband, Harold Gene Cagle of Hatley; one daughter, Wanda Gay Guin (Neal) of Hatley; two sons, Lynn Cagle (Lisa) of Hamilton and Richard Cagle (Melinda) of Hatley; three sisters, Margaret Harris (Roger) of Becker, Bessie Armstrong of Smithville and Nellie Ruth Arrick of West Point; two brothers, Claude Jackson (Nancy) and John Jackson, all of Smithville; five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Sally Jackson; two brothers, Frank Jackson and Harold Ray Jackson.

PONTOTOC – Ottis Herbert Graham, 91, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a Baptist and a retired factory worker. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family.

TUPELO – Suzanne Mullins, 72, died Sunday, June 10, 2012, at her home after a long illness. A West Point native, she had lived in Tupelo for the past 30 years.
She was born Jan. 24, 1940, to John Aubrey and Susie Edith Howard Mullins. She was a bookkeeper and manager of a retail convenience store. She was an avid football fan, especially the Tennessee Volunteers. She also loved to play solitaire.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues with the Rev. Kevin Dutka officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. W.E. Pegues Funeral Directors is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include a daughter, Jo Ann Seay (Albert) of Tupelo; six brothers and sisters; 10 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Terry Sr.; her parents; and four sisters.

TUPELO – Timothy Scott Staten, 48, died Monday, June 11, 2012, at his home. He graduated from Tupelo High School in 1981. He was a member of the Tupelo Symphony Orchestra. An avid star watcher, he enjoyed astronomy; music and playing the guitar; fishing, camping and watching NASCAR races. His favorite place was the Smokey Mountains.
