IUKA – Wilma Tuders, 54, of Iuka, died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka. Burial will be in Moore’s Chapel Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home in Iuka.

Mary Smith
OXFORD – Mary Smith, 74, retired manager of the Big Star Deli, died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at her home in Oxford. Born in Lafayette County, she was a member of Shiloh Baptist Church. Affectionately known as “Granny,” she always had a smile on her face and was known for putting the needs of others before her own.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Waller Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Carey Worthington officiating. Burial will be in Pine Flat Cemetery in Oxford. Waller Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include four sons, Monty Montgomery of Oxford, Jimmy Dale Peters of Gainesville, Ga., Rickey Peters of Tucson, Ariz., and Allen Peters of Brownsville, N.J.; three sisters, Annie Allen of Oxford, Marie Allen of Oxford and Jean Allen of Tremont, Ill.; nine grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. today at the funeral home.

OXFORD – Sammie Oneta Rogers, 64, died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at her home in Oxford.

Eddie Hazlewood
WEST POINT – Eddie Hazlewood, 63, died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Edward Earl Hazlewood was born Nov. 9, 1948, in West Point to Helen Herring Hazlewood Clifton and Sidney Earl Hazlewood. He was an “A” Fitter Welder for Babcock and Wilcox Company for 30 years and a member of Real Life Church in Columbus. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served during the Vietnam War. Eddie Hazlewood married Sandra Spencer Hazlewood on Dec. 17, 1976, in West Point. Eddie loved his grandchildren and spending time with his family. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a an avid sports fan, especially football. Eddie loved visiting the mountains. His favorite place to visit was Cades Cove in the Great Smoky Mountains near Gatlinburg, Tenn.
Services will be at 4:30 p.m. Sunday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Martin Andrews officiating. Burial will be in Cairo Cemetery. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Sandra Spencer Hazlewood of West Point; two daughters, Christie Morris and Shannon Morris Bateman, both of West Point; two sons, Eddie Hazlewood of West Point and Russell Morris of Meridian; four grandchildren, Josh Hancock, Audrey Pee, Landon Golson and Lily Grace Hazlewood; his mother, Helen Herring Hazlewood Clifton of West Point; two sisters, Sylvia McKee (Robert) of Cedar Bluff and Alice Eaton (Darrell) of West Point; and two brothers, Johnny Hazlewood of West Point and Bobby Hazlewood (Dyann) of Cedar Bluff.
He was preceded in death by his father; and his grandparents, Milburn and Jewel Bean Hazlewood.
Pallbearers will be Rowland Morris, Charles Foster, Maverick Eaton, Bill Spencer Jr., Austin Clardy, Ronnie Spencer and Chance Livingston.
Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors, former co-workers at Babcock and Wilcox Company and the doctors, nurses and staff at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

CORINTH – Francis Marie Boyd Long, 59, died Tuesday, May 29, 2012, in Birmingham Ala.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Mt. Moriah United Church. Burial will be in Corinth National Cemetery. Patterson Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Jerry Smith
PITTSBORO – Jerry Ralph Smith, 62, died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at his home. He was born Sept. 29, 1949, in Bruce. He was an Army Vietnam veteran and the widower of the late Tilda Jean McCormick Smith. He was an equipment operator of 32 years with the Mississippi Department of Transportation and a member of Rocky Mt. Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. James Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Rocky Mt. Cemetery in Pittsboro. Parker Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his mother, Ella Mae Gregory Smith of Pittsboro; two sons, Jerry Kraig Smith and Christopher Dean Smith, both of Pittsboro; and two sisters, Rita Smith Foster of Bruce and Evelyn Smith Martin of Pittsboro.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ralph Clyde Smith; a bother, Curtis Dean Smith; and a sister; Lura Jane Coleman.
Pallbearers will be Mike Byars, Steve Byars, Andy Fortner, Corey Fortner, Tony Lee Hubbard, Keith Martin, Tim Earl McCormick and Jeff McGregor.

Mavis Moses
FULTON – Mavis E. Moses, 80, died , Wednesday, May 30, 2012, at UAB in Birmingham. She was born Nov. 28, 1931, in Mississippi to Dolphus and Cora Taylor Moses. She was a clerk for Abbott Labs and a member of Salem Baptist Church. She enjoyed her church, quilting, gardening and embroidering.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Salem Baptist Church with Bro. Jeff Moses officiating. Burial will be in Salem Baptist Church Cemetery. Senter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her son, Kevin Moses (Jody) of South Carolina; daughters, Gail Williams (Johnnie) of Wisconsin and Brenda McLaughlin (David) of Illinois; grandchildren, Jim Bagley, Jason Bagley, Belinda McLaughlin, Rachel McLaughlin, Joshua Moses and Jessica Moses; three great-grandchildren, Alysa Bagley, Jocelyne McLaughlin and Jamier Brown; brothers, James Cleveland (Jody) of Fairview and Doyle Cleveland (Bertyce) of Illinois; and sister, Ruth “Boots” Weaver (Charles) of Tremont.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and four brothers.
Pallbearers will be Stewart Weaver, Chad Weaver, Keith Cleveland, Kevin Moses, Johnnie Williams and David Mclaughlin.

NEW ALBANY – Nina Ezell, 39, died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center. She was a graduate of Daniel High School in New Albany and a member of Watson Grove M.B. Church where she was a former member of the choir.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Watson Grove M.B Church with Pastor Avence Pittman Jr. officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Beasley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include one daughter, Chelsee Ezell; her mother, Brenda Ezell (William); her father, Billy Baldon, all of New Albany; her grandmother, Louella Ezell of New Albany; her brothers, Billy R. Barry, Reggie Boles and Detavaious Finley, all of New Albany and Billy R. Baldon of Southaven; her sisters, KaLonda Baldon-Hill of Peoria, Ill., LeKelak Graham, Marvie Graham and Tabitha Barry, all of New Albany and Sherry LeSure of Holly Springs; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 1 to 5 p.m. today and from 1 to 2 p.m. Sunday at Watson Grove M.B. Church.

Katherine Palmer
RIENZI – Katherine Palmer, 90, of Rienzi, died Thursday, May 31, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville. She was born April 24, 1922, to Sam and Ellen Moore Strange. She was a member of Sardis Primitive Baptist Church, and she was a retired factory worker.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Sardis Primitive Baptist Church with Elder Cecil Woodruff officiating. Burial will be in the Sardis Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by one daughter, Ann (Gale) Armstrong of Rienzi; two sons, Tommy (Sherry) Palmer and Mike Palmer, both of Rienzi; two sisters, Prudence Storey of Booneville and Maxine Leatherwood of Rienzi; three grandchildren, Kim (Tim) Perry, Kristy (Jason) White and Lane (Teah) Palmer; and nine great-grandchildren, Warren and Tate Perry, Amber, Shelby, Chloe, and Karlie Palmer and Samuel, Jude and Ruby Kate White.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warner Palmer; her parents; and one sister, Mary Effie Massey.
Visitation will be from noon until 1 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Troy Griffin
HOUSTON – David Troy Griffin, 76, died Friday, June 1, 2012, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was born in Chickasaw County to Margaret Cook Griffin and Eldridge Griffin. He worked all of his life as a truck driver. He enjoyed spending time with his family and visiting with his friends at the Sparta Opry.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at Houston Funeral Home. Burial will be in Ellzey Cemetery. Houston Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his children, Randy Griffin of Tupelo, Vicki Griffin Ferguson (David) of Oxford and Karen Griffin Helms of Pontotoc; two grandchildren, Krista Griffin of Tupelo and Olivia Ferguson of Oxford; one great-grandchild, Kinsley Harris of Tupelo; and one brother, Gerald Griffin (Geraldine) of Woodland.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Orear Griffin; two brothers, Ray Griffin and Travis Griffin, both of Houston; and his parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
