Bobbie Jo Mixon
MABEN – Bobbie Jo Mixon, 81, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora. Burial will be in Montevista Cemetery in Webster County.
Visitation will be from 6 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Chuck Austin
WEST POINT – Charles Barney “Chuck” Austin, 64, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Veterans Medical Center in Memphis. He was born Dec. 25, 1945, in Calhoun City to Girtie Barnett Austin and Marshall Henry Austin. He worked with Holnam Industries, and Babcock amp& Wilcox Company, and he was a homebuilder for 32 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving during the Vietnam War. He married Hilda Vinson Austin on Aug. 29, 1969, at Parkway Baptist Church in Jackson.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church with the Dr. James Towery officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Garden Cemetery in West Point. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda V. Austin of West Point; one daughter, Stacy Ricks (Eddie); one son, Paxton Austin; one grandson, John Austin Ricks; one sister, Rita Christopher (Al), all of West Point; two brothers, M.H. Austin Jr. of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and Garey Austin (Pat) of Tuscumbia, Ala.
Pallbearers will be Dewey Cox, Jonathan Edwards, Eugene Oswalt, Tim Golson, Jimmy Littlefield and Henry Myers.
Honorary pallbearers will be Troy Miller, Shane Austin, Philip Cole, Josh Christopher, Kye Cole, Jim McIlwain and Eddie Ricks.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942 or to LeBonheur Children’s Medical Center, 50 Dunlap Street, Memphis, TN 38103.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Calvert Funeral Home. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p.m. to service time Thursday.

PONTOTOC – Cyndi Jaggers, 41, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at her residence in Belzoni. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Pontotoc and a pharmacist at Fred’s Pharmacy in Belzoni. She was a graduate of Pontotoc High School Class of 1986, Miss ICC and a Star Student in 1988. She was a graduate of the University of Mississippi School of Pharmacy Class of 1991, where she was a member of the Rho Chi honor society.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church in Pontotoc with Dr. Ken Hester officiating. Burial will follow in the Zion Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home in Pontotoc is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her parents, Shelia and A.M. Norwood Jr. of Pontotoc; her brothers, James Chad Jaggers of Pontotoc and Marty Norwood (Nancy) of Starkville; her sister, Anna Furr (Mark) of Pontotoc; her aunts, Deb Spears (Royce), Sherry McKinney (Mike) and Barbara Niemczyk, all of Pontotoc, and Dotsy Williamson (Bobby) of Eupora; her uncle, Bill Stewart (Sherry) of Pontotoc; three nieces, Lauren Furr of Nashville, Callie Jaggers and Claire Jaggers of Jackson, Tenn.; three nephews, Paul Furr of Pontotoc, Art Norwood of Starkville and J.D. Jaggers of Jackson, Tenn.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Lane “Bobie” Jaggers; her grandparents, James K. and Janie Jaggers, Wayne and Faye Stewart, and Arthur and Etoyle Norwood; her aunt, Elizabeth Pannell; and her uncle,Kenneth Jaggers.
Pallbearers will be David Owen, Shane Bridgman, Richie Wingo, Sam Stewart, Dickey Austin and Mike Holloway.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today and from 9 to 10 a.m. Thursday at the church.

HOULKA – Gene H. “Peewee” Garner, 72, died Monday, March 1, 2010, in Bruce. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was a deacon at Hopewell Baptist Church in Randolph for 27 years. He was retired from United Chair in Bruce. He enjoyed visiting people and talking about the Bible.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Bro. Donald Austin officiating. Burial will be in Poplar Springs Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Frances M. Garner; his children, Tammy (Eddie) Williams of Houlka, Vicki (David) Callahan of Woodland and Stacy (John) Vance of Houlka; a sister-in-law, Jo Ann Garner; his grandchildren, Austin Williams, Dixie Williams, Peyton Callahan, Zach Callahan and Trace Vance.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Anice Garner; his father, Lynmon Garner; and two brothers, Woody Garner and Dennis Garner.
Pallbearers will be Arnell Fleming, John Fleming, Danny Tutor, Harlan Galloway, Jimmy Luther and Billy Owens.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 p.m. to service time Thursday.

Leroy McGillivray
PONTOTOC – Leroy McGillivray, 75, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was a Baptist, a 32nd degree Mason and a Shriner.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc. The Rev. James McMillen and members of Pontotoc Masonic Lodge 81 will officiate. Burial will be in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Shelba McGillivray; one son, Rod McGillivray; one grandson, Sgt. Russ McGillivray; one granddaughter, Nikki Fair; four great-grandchildren, Cameron and Errin McGillivray, and Bobby and Georgia Fair; one brother, Joe McGillivray; two sisters, Donna McGillivray and Linda Mayberry; his nieces and nephews; a half brother, Jon McGillivray; and a special friend, Jaime Tucker.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Eschol and Dorothy McGillivray; a brother, Alvin McGillivray; and a sister, Jewel McMillen.
Pallbearers will be Steve McGillivray, Randy McMillen, Barry Boone, Craid Boone, Curt Boone and Cory Boone.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. Thursday and from noon to service time Friday.

HORN LAKE – Shelbia Jean Misskelley, 70, died Sunday, Feb. 28, 2010, at the Ozark Community Hospital in Gravatte, Ark.
Graveside services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Hulsey Family Cemetery in Holly Springs. Serenity Funeral Home of Holly Springs is in charge of the arrangements.

Harold Epps
GOLDEN – Harold Edwin Epps, 80, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born July 12, 1929, in Golden to Chester A. and Amy Stanphill Epps. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in the Korean conflict, and a lifetime member of VFW. He was a farmer and retired from Blue Bell as a cutting room supervisor. He had also worked at Winfield Mfg. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and NASCAR.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Belmont with Bro. Bobby Hankins officiating. Burial will be in Belmont Memory Garden.
Survivors are his wife of 61 years, Della Mae Hooper Epps of Golden; two children, Doug Epps (Patti) and Jennifer Wigginton (Jamie), all of Golden; three grandchildren, Shawn Epps, Amy Horn and Kellen Horn; one great-granddaughter, Ashley Epps.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a son, David Epps.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Epps, Gary Pounders, Burt Nelson, Harold Rogers, John Messer and Jason Hooper. Honorary pallbearers will be Joe Bostick, and his hunting and fishing buddies.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. today at Deaton Funeral Home in Belmont.

C.B. Hutcheson
BELDEN – C.B. Hutcheson, 77, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born Jan. 26, 1933, to Cass B. and Elsie Hutcheson. He was a member of the Birmingham Ridge Baptist Church. He was a former salesman and owner of Tops Quality Foods and Marie’s Italian Beef. He also was a pest control tech. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War. He was an avid car trader and a friend to all.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn with Bro. Bobby Holland officiating. Burial will be in the Endville Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Esther Hutcheson of Belden; one daughter, Barbara Howell (Roger) of Belden; stepchildren, Steve Duncan (Linda) of Brewer, Tim Duncan (Melinda) of the Palestine community; one sister Lynn Wackenhuth of Iowa; one brother, Escue Hutcheson of Saltillo; his grandchildren, John McCullough, Cassie Jones (Jessie) and Katie Howell; his stepgrandchildren, Toby Duncan, Ginger Dabbs, Lindsey Duncan, Chelsia Duncan and T.J. Duncan; four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Hutcheson; his parents; and brothers and sisters, Elbert Hutcheson, Humphrey Hutcheson, Earl Hutcheson, Christine McBrayer, Doris Jean White, Rhoda Hutcheson and Alma Moore.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Chapman, Rickey Parks, Nick McClement, Benard Wallis and Ron Adkins. Olen White is an honorary pallbearer.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today.

CORINTH – Nelda Dillon Roberts, 84, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, in Corinth.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at McPeters Inc. Funeral Directors Chapel in Corinth. Burial will be in Forrest Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today.

PONTOTOC – Betty Mae McCreight, 67, died Tuesday, March 2, 2010, at the Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. She was a member of West Heights Baptist Church and retired from Taylor Made.
Services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Dr. David Hamilton, Dr. Ken Hester and Rev. Billy Ray Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her daughters, Bridget Taylor (Donny) and Tammy Hannon, both of Pontotoc; her two sisters, Dorothy Coker (Jackie) and Jean Lantrip, both of Pontotoc; her brother, Odis Dean Owens (Virginia) of Hernando; two grandsons, Cody Taylor and Jon Michael Hannon.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Odis Linville Owens and Q.V. Herndon; and two sisters, Mary Opal Hooker and Linda Faye Owens.
Pallbearers will be Craig Hooker, Mike Easterling, Gene Turner, Chad Winter, Dewayne Graham, Martin Scarlett, John McCreight and Sam McCreight.

Margaret C. Rye
AMORY – Margaret Catherine White Rye, 91, died Monday, March 1, 2010, at the Golden Living Nursing Center in Amory after an extended illness. Born July 6, 1918, in Mt. Pleasant, Texas, she was the daughter of the late Adonise and Bessie Morgan White. She was a bookkeeper and a member of the First Baptist Church in Amory.
A stateroom service will be at 11 a.m. today at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory with Dr. Allen Simpson and the Rev. Jimmy McFatter officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until service time today at the funeral home.
