Bobby Shettles
ECRU – Bobby James Shettles, 72, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Sanctuary Hospice House in Tupelo. He was a member of Ecru Baptist Church. He was retired from Pontotoc Springs, and he served in the U.S. Army.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Browning Funeral Home Chapel in Ecru with the Rev. Roger Hunter officiating. Burial will be in Ecru Cemetery. Browning Funeral Home of Ecru is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his two daughters, Kim Bagwell (Jeff) and Carla Thomas, both of Pontotoc; two sisters, Dottie Cobb (Steve) of Ecru and Sandra McClure (Tommy) of Ingomar; one brother, Billy Shettles of Ecru; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James Otis Shettles and Etoyle Robbins Shettles; and his wife, Jimmie Nell Craig Shettles.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Bagwell, Chad Holcomb, Kevin Cobb, Keith Cobb, Steve Cobb, Jason Thomas and Tommy McClure.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 to 3 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

OXFORD – Lonnie Dean Corley, 57, died Friday, Oct. 29, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Oxford.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at Coleman Funeral Home Chapel in Oxford. Coleman Funeral Home of Oxford is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mildred McKinney
VINA, Ala. – Mildred Pharr McKinney, 89, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at Generations in Red Bay.
Services will be at noon today at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel in Red Bay. Burial will be in Pilot Hill Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home of Red Bay is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be until service time today at the funeral home.
Ruth Biggs
IUKA – Ruth Biggs, 81, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. She enjoyed fishing, cooking and sewing.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel in Iuka with Bro. Phil Dawson officiating. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include two grandchildren, Brooke Nunley (Josh) of Iuka and Tag Gentsch (Jessica) of Southaven; and two great-grandchildren, Riley and Averly Gentsch.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Biggs; her sons, Jeffery and Mark Biggs; her daughter, Jan Biggs Gentsch; five brothers, Raymond, Joe, Tommy, Taswell and Paul Gross; and her sister, Imogene Gregory.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home in Iuka.

Victor Farrar
MARIETTA – Victor Ornez Farrar, 86, died Oct. 30, 2010, at Darlington Oaks Hospice House in Verona. He was born Oct. 22, 1924. He served with the 511th Air Borne Division as a paratrooper during WWII. He was instrumental in the Marietta Community Development and was a charter member of the Marietta Lions Club and RCDC. He was a retired postmaster of Marietta. He spent many years as a song director and was well known for his love of singing gospel music. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. Most of all, he was a dedicated Christian, who enjoyed studying his bible for hours on end. He was a member of East Marietta Baptist Church.
Services will be at 4:30 p.m. today at Waters Funeral Home with Bro. Ray Hall officiating. Graveside services will be at sunset at East Mt. Zion Cemetery. Waters Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Nancy Farrar of Marietta; his daughters, Sarah Greene (Lynn) of Marietta, Mary Morris (Richard) of Casey Creek, Brandi Hamblin (Chris) of Baldwyn and Heather Robinson (Stephen) of Belmont; one son, Cody Farrar (Amanda) of Booneville; nine grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Odessal Michael of Baldwyn; and special friends, Jordan Clark and Hannah Johnson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Huber Sam and Mary Braden Farrar; and his brothers and sisters, Cleaburn, Carlie, Etoyle, Oscar, Lenox, Annie Doris, Conley, Pat, Benny, Headley, Billie and Boyce.
Pallbearers will be Joey Clark, Ronnie Sappington, Bobby Pharr, Bobby Whitley, Danny Stephens and David Copeland.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of the bluegrass group, “Breaking Glass.”
Ophelia Ginn
CHEROKEE, Ala. – Ophelia Ginn, 78, died Saturday, Oct. 30, 2010, at her home. She was a member of Asphalt Rock Baptist Church. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed cooking and quilting.
Services will be at noon Tuesday at Asphalt Rock Baptist Church with Bro. Andy Elliott and Bro. R.C. Scott officiating. Burial will be in Asphalt Rock Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 59 years, Billy Ginn of Cherokee; two sons, Bobby Gene Ginn (Pam) of Florence, Ala. and Michael Anthony Ginn (Cathy) of Shannon; one daughter, Sandra Jane Ginn of Cherokee; one brother, Eulon Pruitt (Faye) of Dennis; and three grandchildren, Lindsay Ginn, Andrew Ginn (Ambere) and Laura Ginn.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Marcus and Janie Pruitt; and five brothers, Joe, George, Travis, Velon and Raymond Pruitt.
Pallbearers will be James Ham, Bobby Cosby, Rickey Dillard, Jerry Cain, Bradley Swader and Jerry Watson.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the church.

CHICAGO, Ill. – William David Nagule, 65, formerly of Houlka, died Saturday, Oct. 23, 2010, at Loyola Medical Center in Chicago.
A prayer service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Graveside services will follow immediately in East County Line Cemetery in Houlka. Kenneth I. Roberson Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.

Virginia Jaynes
ABERDEEN – Virginia Parker Jaynes, 85, died Sunday, Oct. 31, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Tisdale-Lann Memorial Funeral Home of Aberdeen.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today at the funeral home.

David Putt
PONTOTOC – David L. Putt, 61, died Oct. 30, 2010, at his home. He was proud to serve his Country in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam where he earned the National Defense Service Medal, the Vietnam Service Medal, the RVN Cross of Gallantry with Palm and Frame and the Rifle Expert Badge. He loved his granddaughters so very much and was an avid coin collector, hunter and NASCAR fan.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Burial will be in Andrews Chapel Cemetery in Mooreville. Tutor Memorial Funeral Home of Pontotoc is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his daughter, Angelia Wright (Tom) of Tupelo; his sons, Quinn Putt of Pontotoc and Gregg Putt of Guntown; his granddaughters, Felicia Putt of Fulton and Jessica Lin Wright of Tupelo; two sisters, Glenda Beard of Okolona and Lynn Abbott of Pontotoc; one brother, Jimmy B. Putt of Vardaman; and the mother of his children, Linda Childers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil Putt and Merlene Putt Presley; and a sister, Barbara Dent.
Pallbearers will be Quinn Putt, Ben Brewer, Tom Wright, Josh Bolen, Chris “Bull” Watson and Greg Putt.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 1 to 2 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
