BOONEVILLE – Richard Cullen Goddard, 73, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Booneville Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Hall and Bro. W.C. Alexander officiating. Burial will be in Crossroads Cemetery in Jumpertown. Booneville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

IUKA – Estene Rynolds, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Pleasant Grove Church of Christ. Burial will be in Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Cutshall Funeral Home of Iuka is in charge of arrangements.
Visitation will be 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home and the body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to service time Tuesday.

BOONEVILLE – Sibyl Loveless Owens, 91, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at Chriswood Assisted Living in Booneville. She was born Sept. 4, 1919, in Tishomingo County to Sherman and Effie McAnally Loveless. She was a homemaker and a member of Paden Baptist Church. She enjoyed flowers and cleaning house.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at McMillan Funeral Home with Bro. Haskell Sparks officiating. Burial will be in Tuscumbia Cemetery. McMillan Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by three daughters, Myra Whitlock of Iuka, Monna Sue (Thomas) Hood of Florence, Ala. and Donna (Dennie) Richardson of Booneville; one sister, Juanita Hearn of Allsboro, Ala; four grandchildren, Joan Moore, Leslie Whitlock, Tara Roberson and Chrystal Richardson; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Thomas Dolan Owens; one sister, Geraldine McGill; and one brother, Roy B. Loveless.
Visitation will be from 4 to 9 p.m. today and until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

CALHOUN CITY – Willam T. Buchanan, 91, died Nov. 27, 2010, at Oxford Baptist Memorial Hospital. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Belle Memorial Funeral Home of Bruce.
Ruth Wilson
TUPELO – Mary Ruth Wilson, 80, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo after a sudden illness. She was born in Iuka in Tishomingo County on Sept. 17, 1930, to Dink and Dessie Mae West Carpenter. She was a master homemaker and pastor’s wife all her adult life. She and her husband, Dr. Paul Wilson, pastored Baptist Churches, primarily in Mississippi, for over 40 years, including locally, at Priceville Baptist, First Baptist in Verona and Koinonia Baptist in Mooreville. She was an active member of Harrisburg Baptist Church, the Sanctuary Sunday School Class there and the Merry Makers Seniors Group.
Ruth was a great cook and loved preparing meals for her family and for those in need at her church. She cooked briefly at Mulberry Alley, a family-owned restaurant. She enjoyed sewing and care giving to those in need.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Tupelo Chapel of Holland Funeral Directors with Dr. Forrest Sheffield and Bro. David Smith officiating. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park. Holland Funeral Directors is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Dr. Paul H. Wilson, to whom she married Jan. 19, 1949; and her children, Bobby Wilson of Mendenhall, Wanda Wilson Smith (Mark) of Saltillo, Sharon Wilson Rehberg (Palmer) of Winterville, Ga. and Stacy Wilson Boler (Phillip) of Brandon.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Michael Smith of Tupelo, Carrie Smith Sebring (Carey) of Saltillo, Brandy Wilson Sheppard of Mendenhall, Amber O’Farrell McAnally (Michael) of Brandon, Brandon Rehberg (Claire) of Winterville Ga. and Raven Wilson of Mendenhall; and her great-grandchildren, Madison and Jackson Bailey of Saltillo and Styles Sheppard of Mendenhall.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her siblings, Ted, Billy Joe, Corby L. and Faye Carpenter
Pallbearers will be Phillip Boler, Mark Smith, Palmer Rehberg, Brandon Rehberg, Michael Smith, Bill Carpenter and Randy Carpenter.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. until service time Tuesday, all at the Tupelo Chapel.

RIPLEY – Bernice Spears, 59, died Saturday, Nov. 27, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Foster and Son Funeral Home of Ripley.
Dewey Burcham
CORINTH – Dewey Olen Burcham, 83, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at Magnolia Regional Health Center. He was born Feb. 8, 1927. He graduated from Biggersville High School in 1946. He retired from Bell South Telephone Company after 38 years of service. He was also a farmer and a landowner. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II.
He was past Master of two Masonic lodges, past Illustrious Grand Master of the Grand Council of Mississippi, past Grand Commander of York Rite Masonic Bodies of Mississippi, a member of St. Boniface Red Cross of Constantine, a member of the Holy Order of High Priesthood, a Knight York Cross of Honor and various other honorary degrees of Masonry. He was a member of Glendale Baptist Church.
Services, with military honors, will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Bro. Harold Burcham, Bro. Taft Nethery and Walker Wood officiating. Burial will be in Corinth National Cemetery. Magnolia Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his sons, Joel Burcham and wife, Susan of Corinth and Jimmy Burcham of Corinth; his daughter, Janice Burcham Harper and husband, Jody of Brandon; his grandchild, Molly Burcham of Corinth; his brothers, Marvin Burcham and wife, Barbara of Brandon and Billy Burcham and wife, Shirley of Corinth; his sister, Betty LaFaver and husband, Roy of Lafayette, La.; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Doris Gladys Hughes Burcham; his father, Jim Conley Burcham; his mother, Esther Lee Mathis Burcham; and his sister, Peggy Carter.
Pallbearers will be Ray Hughes, Walker Wood, Bobby Garrett, Joe Garrett, Lex Mitchell and Dewey Lee Knight.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. until service time Tuesday at the funeral home.

STURGIS – Phronia Starnes Smith, 83, homemaker, died Sunday, Nov. 28, 2010, at Starkville Manor Nursing Home.

Erma Bullard
RANDOLPH – Erma Erlene Houpt Bullard, 91, died Nov. 27, 2010, at Calhoun Health Service Nursing Home in Calhoun City. She was born in Sarepta. She was a homemaker and a devoted wife and mother. She was a member of Lantrip Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher for a number of years.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Parker Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Robert Earl Alexander officiating and Bro. Billy Miller assisting. Burial will be in Bruce Cemetery. Parker Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
She is survived by three daughters, Cynthia A. Vaicke (Steve) of Byron, Ga., Ernestine Avant (Wallace) of Grenada and Ora Jean Sharpe (Robert) of Calhoun City; one son, Michael T. Bullard of Eads, Tenn.; 27 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Bro. S.E. Bullard; her son, Charles K. Bullard; a daughter, Nancy McCain; three sisters, Ora Onsby and Agnes and Idell Tutor; and four brothers, Carl Russell, Noel, Dudley and Clartis Houpt.
Pallbearers will be Wallace Avant, Cris Bullard, John Allen Leachman, Billy Joe McCain, James R. Sharpe and Robert E. Sharpe.
Honorary pallbearers will be Travis McCain, Kevin Taylor and Lantrip Baptist Church deacons.

James Pate
PINE BLUFF – James Wilburn Pate, 81, died Saturday, Nov, 27, 2010, at his daughter’s home in Nashville. He was born Jan. 11, 1929, in Clay County to Lela Murlee Watson Pate and Clinton Calvin Pate. Mr. Pate served in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1949. He and Edna Ruth Rider were married on April 16, 1950, and they relocated to Louisiana in 1952. He was independently employed as a builder, developer and equipment operator until his retirement and return to Clay County in 1993. He was residing in Fairview, Tenn. at the time of his death. Mr. Pate was of the Baptist Faith. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Masonic Lodge, a Shriner and a member of the Lions Club.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Calvert Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Edwards and the Rev. J.B. Rowe officiating. Burial will be in Pine Bluff Cemetery near Mantee. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of sixty years, Edna Ruth Rider Pate of Fairview, Tenn.; one daughter, Sherrie LaRae Pate Sehrt (David) of Nashville; three grandchildren, James Francis Pate Sehrt, John Clinton Pate Sehrt and Brennan LaRae Sehrt, all of Nashville; one brother, Glen Allen Pate Sr. (Thelma) of Maben; and one sister-in-law, Patsy Edwards Pate of Pheba.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his brothers, Lee Calvin Pate and Leotis Pate.
Pallbearers will be James Francis Pate Sehrt, John Clinton Pate Sehrt, James Paul Williams, Glen Allen Pate Jr., Tim Rowe and Jeremy Brock.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday and from noon until service time Wednesday at the funeral home.
