Lynn Patterson
SENATOBIA – Lynn E. Patterson, 65, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at Baptist Memorial Hospital East in Memphis after an extended illness. He was born Oct. 10, 1944, in Pontotoc County to Fred Earl Patterson and Lila Artileen Gregory Patterson. He lived his childhood in the Randolph Community and married Lynda S. Howell in 1965. He was employed with Memphis Fire Fighters, where he worked for many years before retiring. He was a member of Southaven United Methodist Church.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Baldwin-Nowell Funeral Home Chapel in Pontotoc with Dr. Jeff Switzer officiating. Burial will follow in Baldwin Memorial Gardens.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Lynda S. Patterson of Senatobia; one son, Jeff Patterson of Hernando; two sisters, Donna Murphy (Edward) of Pontotoc and Methyl Hodges of Starkville; two brothers, Max Patterson (Doris) and Doug Patterson (Patsy), all of Randolph; one grandson, Tyler Patterson of Hernando; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, L.T. and Raymond Patterson and an infant, Kenneth Patterson; and two sisters, Marjorie Sanders and Jane Gregory.
Pallbearers will be Greg Patterson, Paul Patterson, Gary Holloway, Don Patterson, Clifford Patterson, Danny Patterson and Jerry Patterson.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Linda Ann Shannon
TUPELO – Linda Ann Shannon died Friday, Sept. 3, 2010, at her home. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by N.L. Jones and Son Funeral Directors of Tupelo.
Barbara Church
COLUMBUS – Barbara Lawrence Duhon Church, 72, died Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010, at her home in Columbus. The daughter of the late Aymar and Mae Goldric Vallot Duhon, she was born Jan. 20, 1938, in Youngville, La. She had been a resident of Columbus since moving here with her husband, the late Billie E. Church, in 1964. She was a communicant of Annunciation Catholic Church and was active in several women’s Bible study classes.
Mrs. Church graduated from MSCW, now Mississippi Women University for Women, in 1984. A retired registered nurse, she worked for over 20 years in the health care field at Oktibbeha County Hospital, the Lowndes County Health Department and Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle. She was an avid reader and generously donated to and supported various charitable causes.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Annunciation Catholic Church with Father Robert Dore officiating. Visitation in the church’s Atrium will begin at 10 a.m. Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Memorial Funeral Home of Columbus is in charge of the arrangements.
She is survived by sons, William Church (Anita) of Poplarville, Mo., David Church (Clare) of Los Angeles and Kevin Church of Oklahoma City, Okla.; daughters, Cynthia Primm (Lindsey) of Spring Lake, N.C., and Deborah Kidder (Richard) of Columbus; brother-in-law, Melvin Church; O (Charlene), and sister-in-law, Lila Lauderdale (Billy Joe), all of Booneville; 11 grandchildren, Christopher Sarris, Michael Church (Lindsey), Nick Church (Jennifer), Amanda Church, Tiffany Evans (Sam), Tiffany Boykin (Terry), Blake Church (Kayla), Michelle Allen (Kurtis), Mason Church, Kevin Church Jr. and Caitlyn Church; 10 great-grandchildren, Haley Church, Taylor Marie Sarris, Makayla Church, Evelyn Boykin, Cameron Tyler Boykin, Madison Grace Boykin, Sarah Church, Gabriel Church, Maia Evans and Kiera Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Allen Duhon; two grandchildren, Jason Wingo and Jessica Church; and her husband, Billie E. Church, who died April 13, 2010.
Pallbearers will be members of her family.

IUKA – Adam Rast, 18, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, in an automobile accident. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Deaton Funeral Home of Belmont.
James Brooks
MICHIE, Tenn. – James Phillip Brooks, 60, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, in Michie, Tenn. He was born March 13, 1950, in Corinth to Faye Tucker and the late James Howard Brooks. He was a heavy equipment operator and a member of the Acton Church of Christ. He was very talented, could fix almost anything and was good with electronics.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Acton, Tenn. Malcolm George and James Eley will officiate. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery at Michie, Tenn.
He is survived by his mother, Faye Brooks of Michie, Tenn.; a brother, Lowell Douglas Brooks of Nashville, Tenn.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday.
Trey Michael
BALDWYN – Kerry Hollis “Trey” Michael, 24, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at the Eliza Coffee Hospital in Florence, Ala. He was born May 12, 1986, in Jackson. He attended Baldwyn Schools and Northeast Mississippi Community College. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Baldwyn.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Waters Funeral Home with Bro. Stanley Huddleston and Bro. Neal Davis officiating. Burial will be in the Baldwyn Cemetery.
Survivors include his parents, Kerri Don and Jerrieann McCormick Michael of Baldwyn; one brother, Michael Holcomb of Saltillo; his grandparents, Mary Lee Michael of Baldwyn, Brenda McCormick of Saltillo, Jerry McCormick of Kennet. Mo.; an aunt, Kristen Michael of Baldwyn; two uncles, Tracy McCormick and Ricky McCormick.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ronald Michael, and his great-grandparents, Roy and Emma Strickland, and Tutor and Mayble McCormick.
Pallbearers will be Ben Nelson, Jake DeVaughn, Zak Phillips, Zack Nelson, Austin Holley and Carlos Braxton.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today.
Ernest Bridwell
PONTOTOC – Ernest Bridwell, 82, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center Nursing Facility in Pontotoc. Arrangements are incomplete and will be announced later by Baldwin-Nowell Funeral Directors.
David L. Albright
WEST POINT – David Lee Albright, 50, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, in the Tibbee Community of West Point. He was born Aug. 2, 1960, in Flint, Mich., to the late Charlotte Faye McCraw and John Rufus Albright. He was a golf cart technician.
No services will be held. Calvert Funeral Home of West Point is in charge of arrangements.
Survivors include three sons, Ryan David Albright of West Palm Beach, Fla., Jordan Albright and Aaron Albright both of Orlando, Fla.; one sister, Debra Faye Spradlin (Ken) of Conway, Ark.
He was preceded in death by two brothers.

CORINTH – John W. Hodum, 82, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at Magnolia Regional Health Center.
Services with military honors will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Magnolia Funeral Home’s Chapel of Memories. Burial will be in the Tippah Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be at the funeral home from 5 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 a.m. to service time Wednesday.

Agnes Overstreet
TUPELO – Agnes Overstreet, 86, died Monday, Sept. 6, 2010, at her son’s residence after an extended illness. She was born Oct. 15, 1923, in Greenwood, where she was raised. She worked as a secretary for Fikes Insurance Company, Sheffield Insurance, and later for Lawhon Company. Earlier in her life, she liked to fish. She also enjoyed crocheting and other crafts. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at The Jefferson Street Chapel of W.E. Pegues. Burial will be in Tupelo Memorial Park.
Survivors include her son, Billy Overstreet of Tupelo; and her caregiver for the past five years, Bonnie Boyd of Tupelo.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon and from 1 p.m. to service time today at the funeral home.

TOMNOLEN – J.A. “Junior” Lamb Jr., 80, died Sunday, Sept. 5, 2010, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora.
