ITTA BENA – Ophelia Tackett Gregg, 84, died Thursday, Sept. 15, 2011, in Itta Bena.
Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. on Monday at the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora, with burial to follow in the Providence Cemetery in Choctaw County. Visitation will be from 1 to 3 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Virgie Cummings
MANTACHIE – Virgie Cummings died Wednesday, Sept. 14, 2011 at North Mississippi Medical Center.
Virgie Cummings was born to Mr. and Mrs. Robert Moore on Nov. 16, 1942. She was married to the late Jewell Cummings. She was attended services at Warren Chapel CME Church and also Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Warren Chapel CME Church with burial in Warren Chapel Cemetery with the Rev. Maurice Warren officiating. N.L. Jones Funeral Directors are in charge.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynette Cummings; a sister, Mrs. Rena Cullins; two brothers, Raymond Moore and Robert Talley Moore of Alabama; one brother-in-law, Loyce Cummings (Bettie) of St. Louis, Mo.; two sister-in-laws, Charlie Mae Isby of Dorsey and Ruby Elliott of Mantachie; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Doris Davidson
MANTACHIE – Doris Ann Davidson, 75, died Friday, Sept.16, 2011, at her home after an extended illness. She was born May 23, 1936, in Itawamba County to Clayburn and Velora Beene Cooley. She worked 27 years in banking and the past 16 years with her husband at Unity Broadcasting TV 39. She was Baptist in belief and enjoyed singing, sewing, and spending time with her great-grandchildren. She was an avid LA Lakers fan.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at the McNeece-Morris Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Terry Paul Graham, Bro. Danny Rushing, and Bro. James Wilson officiating. Burial will be in Itawamba Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include her husband of almost 24 years, Bro. Grady Davidson, of Mantachie; one daughter, Sabrina Ganaway (Carl) of Tupelo; one son, Bill Donald (Sonya) of Tupelo; one step-daughter, Betty Dulaney (Roy) of Mantachie; one step-son, Kenneth Davidson (Paula) of Fulton; her sister, Ruth Perry of Tupelo; her brother, Frank Cooley (Doris) of Eggville; a sister-in-law, Sandra Cooley of Mantachie; a daughter-in-law, Connie Davidson of Saltillo; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clayburn Cooley; two brothers, Darrell Cooley and Bill Cooley; and a sister, Laura McFerrin (Johnny).
Pallbearers will be Chris Ganaway, Jonathan Martin, Joe Lee Camp, Rod McFerrin, Brad McFerrin, and Tim Jones.
Honorary pallbearers will be Arthur Kermit McFerrin, Buster Davis, Dare Cooley, Morris Murphree, Clovis Franks, and all employees of UBN TV 39 and TV 15.
Visitation will continue until service time today at the funeral home.

Dorothy Wilson
NEW ALBANY – Dorothy L. Steele Wilson, 82, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at Union County Health and Rehab in New Albany.
She was born in Haywood County, Tenn. to Henry David Steele and Nannie Pearl Dodson Steele. She was an employee of Roselawn Nursing Home in New Albany. She was a Baptist.
Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, at United Funeral Service Chapel with the Rev. Malcolm Brock and Rev. Phillip Brock officiating. Burial will be in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Memphis, Tenn.
Survivors include her sister, Margie Godwin of Memphis, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Jerri Conlee (Jerry) of New Albany, Michael Wilson of Hickory Flat, and Meredith Horton (Andy) of Baldwyn; six great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Roy Solan Wilson; a sister, Inez Lowery; and two brothers, Thurman Steele and Leon Steele.
Pallbearers will be David Godwin, Billy Gene Godwin, Michael Wilson, Jerry Conlee, and Andy Horton.
Visitation will be from 5 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.

IUKA – Eunice Gardner Guinn, 95, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at the Cutshall Funeral Home Chapel with burial in Hubbard Salem Cemetery.
Visitation will be from noon until 2 p.m. today the funeral home.

Annie Dozier
FULTON – Annie Lois Dozier, 85, died Friday, Sept.16, 2011, at the North Mississippi Medical Center. She was born September 23, 1925, to Ellis and Rennie Riggs Justice. She was a homemaker and member of Southern Hills Church of Christ.
Graveside services will be at noon today at East Fulton (White Church) Cemetery with Minister Guy Hester officiating. McNeece-Morris Funeral Home of Fulton is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include her husband of 68 years, E.C. Dozier; one daughter, Linda Wilson (Mike); one grandson, Grant Wilson (Angela); one great-granddaughter, Kayla Sellers; one great-grandson, Garrett Wilson; three great-great grandchildren, Cody Sellers, D.J. Austin, and Aaliyah Austin; an aunt, Reva Henderson; and a very special friend, Syble Summers, all of Fulton.
She was preceded in death by her parents and one grandson, Ken Moore.
Pallbearers will be David Summers, Robert Dozier, and Adrian Dozier.
The family will receive visitors at the cemetery briefly before the service today.
Doug Timbes
TISHOMINGO – Doug Timbes, 89, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2011 at Magnolia Regional Health Center in Corinth.
He was a member of Tishomingo Baptist Church. He loved and enjoyed basketball among all things except his wife, Effie whom he loved the most.
Services will be at 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Tishomingo Baptist Church, with Bro. Robbie Crane officiating. Burial will be in Tishomingo Cemetery.
Cutshall Funeral Home in Iuka is in charge of all arrangements.
Survivors include his wife, Effie Timbes of Tishomingo; three sons,
Donald Ray Timbes of Ariz.; Dennis Timbes of Memphis, and David Timbes of Ariz.; two step sons, Kenneth Frederick (Nancy) of Fulton and Roger Frederick (Lilly) of Southaven; one daughter, Deborah Pitts of Tampa, Fla.; five grand grandchildren; several great grandchildren; four step grandsons; and 17 step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Minter and Fannie Timbes; two brothers, James and Amos Timbes; two sisters, Bee Stevens and Cathleen Lindsey; and a step granddaughter, Karen Frederick.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Tuesday at Tishomingo Baptist Church.

BRONX, NEW YORK – Billy Fred “Tony” Berry, 68, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011, at Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan, NY. He was formerly of Houlka.

TISHOMINGO – Christa Hardin, 56, died Saturday, Sept. 17 at the North Missisippi Medical Center. Funeral service arrangements are incomplete and will be announced by Deaton Funeral Home in Belmont at a later date.
Mamie Smith
LOCUST HILL – Mamie Catherin Smith, 70, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at her residence.
She was born on July 29, 1941, in Pontotoc. She was a Baptist, and a life long resident of Pontotoc County. She was truly loved and will be greatly missed.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at Glenfield Funeral Home in New Albany with Brother Jim Varnon officiating. Burial will be in Sherman Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Henery Smith of Locust Hill; two daughters, Toni Frazier (Jason) of Pontotoc and Tena Smith of Baldwyn; grandchildren, Halie French, Jess French, Aaron Smith, Adam Smith, and Amberlee Smith; and special friends, Darwin Brooks and Doris Brandon.
Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. today at the funeral home.
Helen Moore
JUMPERTOWN – Helen Moore, 81, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville.

Randy West
OXFORD – Randall Hix West, 63, died Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at North Mississippi Regional Center in Oxford.
He was born Feb. 8, 1948 in Calhoun City. He was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Slate Springs.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Pryor Funeral Home in Calhoun City with the Rev. Jim Vance and the Rev. Kenneth Armstrong officiating. Burial will be in Bethany Cemetery.
Survivors include a brother, Douglas Gene (Brenda) West of Calhoun City; a niece, Lori West Perrigin of Columbus; two great nieces, Kaylee and Ashley Perrigin of Columbus and a host of friends at the North Mississippi Regional Center in Oxford where he resided for over 30 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents H.C. and Yonnie West.

HOULKA – Winston Ray Collums, 83, died Friday, Sept. 16, 2011, at Pontotoc Nursing Home. He was a construction worker. He enjoyed fishing, raising gardens, cooking for charities and giving to family and friends.
Services will be at 11 a.m. on Monday at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home with Minister William Montgomery officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery.
Survivors include two daughters, Pat Walls and Betty Joyce Smith (Eddie) of Houlka; two brothers, Arnold Gene Collums (Mabis) and Jimmy Allen Collums of Houlka; one sister, Sue Clark of Potts Camp; 11 grandchildren, Tim Gregory, Jim Gregory, Rennae Crowe, Frank Hodges, Jr., Mitch Walls, Rick Walls, Tom Walls, Maggie Carwyle, Rachel Reeves, Jessie Edington, and Donna Shempert; 24 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Fay Collums; daughter, Margie Hodges; granddaughter, Michelle Pullen; two brothers, Billy Joel Collums and Laverne Collums; one sister, Charlotte Collums.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday.
Pallbearers will be Bubba Edwards, Tim Kilgo, George Dallas, Terry Reeves, Jimmy Wayne Collums and Tracy Davis. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Zane Clark and Billy J. Collums, Jr.
