OFFICER HONORED FOR PERFORMANCE IN CLASS

Verona police officer Nickola Wright has been given a plaque for her outstanding performance in a Survival Spanish for Law Enforcement telecourse offered at Itawamba Community College.

During the class, which started in February, an instructor from the Copiah-Lincoln Community College campus taught via satellite hookup. Four area law enforcement officers took part in the class offered on the Fulton campus.

Wright is a graduate of the North Mississippi Law Enforcement Training Academy. She is a member of the Mississippi Law Enforcement Officers Association and the SFST, DUI Association in Jackson.

She is the first female officer hired by the Verona Police Department.

Wright, who is the daughter of Darlene S. Stone of Alabama and Jim and Peggy Wright of Tupelo, is married to Michael Wright and is the mother of one.
