CALHOUN CITY – A Calhoun City High School teacher’s home was searched and information from a computer sent to the state crime lab after allegations of inappropriate social media comments by the teacher with a student.
Calhoun County Sheriff Gregg Pollan said an investigation began about two months ago after his department was contacted by a parent alleging inappropriate comments made to a CCHS student.
“We and Calhoun City Police did execute a search warrant at a teacher’s residence last week,” said Pollan. “Evidence was collected from a computer and has been sent to the state crime lab where they will look for evidence of a crime.”
Pollan said no charges have been filed and he did not release the name of the teacher involved.
“We want to conduct our investigation, and if merited, charges will be filed,” he said.
