Okolona singer charts
at number 24
n Gospel music recording artist, Brenda Whitlock of Okolona, has a new song, “God Spoke,” at number 24 on the hit charts of “Christian Voice” magazine, March issue.
This song is in the project “From the Heart,” produced by Bobby All of Nashville. Family Music Group is her promotion company.
Brenda recalled this week that she has had 12 of her songs on the nation’s hit charts. She has recorded 64 gospel songs, 63 of which she has written. She has penned over 100 songs during her career.
All of her CD’s and cassettes are available at Brenda’s Music Room and Concert Hall, located on Hwy 41 E in Okolona, and at record shops in the area.
MSU birthday party rescheduled in mid-April
n After last month’s bad weather caused a change in plans, Mississippi State is announcing that its 131th birthday celebration will coincide April 16 with Super Bulldog Weekend festivities.
Sponsored by the MSU Alumni Association, the free 11 a.m.-1 p.m. come-and-go campus event commemorates the land-grant institution’s 1878 creation by the Mississippi Legislature. Food and entertainment will be provided at the Junction near David Wade Stadium.
Students, faculty, staff, alumni, and area residents are invited to come as their schedules permit for complimentary food and soft drinks and MSU ice cream, while supplies last.
Nash Street, Starkville’s nationally prominent musical group, will provide entertainment.
