OKOLONA – A woman has been arrested following the cutting of another woman outside an Okolona night spot and is in the Chickasaw County Jail on aggravated assault charges.
Okolona Police Department Investigator Crossley Ford said Nikki Gandy, 30, of Okolona, was arrested Friday after she allegedly cut Erica Richardson, 24, of Tupelo, with a box cutter.
“The fight started about 2 a.m., at the Boom Boom Room on Fleming Street and moved out into the parking lot and down the street,” said Ford. “The cutting actually took place at the corner of Main and East streets.”
Ford said Gandy allegedly pulled a box cutter from out of her bra and cut Richardson on the face, across her eye, arms and side.
“Richardson was taken by ambulance to North Mississippi Medical Center,” said Ford. “We spent the better part of today interviewing witnesses and getting statements. At this point we have a few things to tidy up but no more charges to put on her (Gandy).”
Ford said Gandy was in the Chickasaw County Jail awaiting arraignment on charges of aggravated assault and no bond had been set as of 5 p.m. Friday.
