Ole Miss sophomore Bobby Wahl has been named co-pitcher of the week in the SEC.
A right-hander from Springfield, Va., Wahl pitched seven innings, a career-best, in the Rebels’ 2-0 win over North Carolina-Wilmington last Friday.
He gave up just one hit, two walks – both in the first inning – and had a career high nine strikeouts.
Wahl went five innings and got the win against TCU in the Rebels’ season opener. He shared the award with South Carolina senior right-hander Michael Roth, who threw seven innings of no-hit ball in an 8-1 win over Elon.
Kentucky center fielder Zac Zellers was named the SEC player of the week, and Alabama catcher Ben Moore was named freshman of the week.
