Ole Miss women back at home vs. SEL

OXFORD – The Ole Miss women’s basketball team is back at home today, trying to get back in the win column after a 67-60 loss at South Alabama last Saturday.
Tipoff against Southeastern Louisiana is 1 p.m.
The Rebels (5-3) got 29 points from senior guard Kayla Melson in Mobile. Forward Pa’Sonne Hope contributed 12 points and seven rebounds, but no one else approached double figures.
The Jaguars clamped down on freshman guard Valencia McFarland, who was 0 for 1 from the floor and had just one point in 27 minutes.
Melson leads the team with 16 points a game. McFarland is averaging 13.3. Southeastern (5-2) won five straight before dropping its last two against Baylor and Louisiana-Lafayette.
