AMORY – One man is in custody and one still at large after a Saturday armed robbery of Hurley’s Used Auto & Salvage on Highway 278 in Monroe County.

Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell said they took one of the suspects into custody Saturday afternoon about two hours after the robbery. Cantrell said investigators also seized a large amount of crack and powdered cocaine in the process of searching for the suspects.

Around 1:30 p.m., the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office received a report of two suspects demanding money from the business at gunpoint. Cantrell didn’t say if or how much money was taken.

The first suspect is described as a 6-feet tall 170-pound man in a black jacket and red and black baseball hat. The second suspect is described as 5-foot-4-inch man with dreadlocks, weighing 200 pounds and wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt.

They fled in a red Chevrolet Impala.
