A Maben man was killed and three others were injured in a three-car accident in Webster County on Monday morning.
The accident occurred on Highway 15 just north of Highway 82 around 10 a.m., when a northbound Nissan Maxima driven by Thomas Cass Johnson, 27, crossed over into the southbound lane, according to Sgt. Criss Turnipseed of the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
The Maxima glanced off a Ford pickup before striking a Chevrolet Trailblazer head on. Johnson was pronounced dead at the scene, and a passenger in his car, Jason Mann, 32, of Maben, was airlifted to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. Mann is listed in critical condition.
The driver of the Chevy, William Nolden, 61, of Maben, was transported to NMMC Eupora before being airlifted to Tupelo with serious injuries.
The driver of the Ford was Terry Morgan, 62, of Maben. He was transported to NMMC Eupora and treated for moderate injuries.
The cause of the accident remains under investigation by the MHP.
