One man killed, another injured in one-car accident
CALHOUN CITY – A Durma man was killed in a one-car accident early Sunday morning, according to reports from the Starkville office of the Mississippi Highway Patrol.
Kenneth L. Glaspie, 27, P.O. Box 206, Durma, was found dead at the scene of the accident in which his 1989 Ford left the road. A passenger in the car, Curtis E. Glaspie, 28, P.O. Box 319, Calhoun City, was transported to Hillcrest Hospital in Calhoun City then transferred to Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi in Oxford. At last report, Glaspie was in critical condition, said the spokeswoman for the highway patrol.
The accident occurred at about 1:30 a.m. Sunday about 8 miles west of Calhoun City on Mississippi Highway 8. Neither man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident, she said. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.
