ABERDEEN – An online payment method for legal fines soon will be implemented by nCourt, LLC of Woodstock, Ga.
“This is something we would like to see approved for Monroe County Justice Court,” court clerk Carolyn Carter said. “We are also making preparations to have a credit card/debit card machine in our building.”
According to Bill Giller of nCourt, its system provides a secure Web site in which fines can be paid by debit or credit card. The service would be provided at no cost to the county.
“The county would receive 100 percent of the fines collected,” Giller said. “We provide a small service charge to the customer when they use this service. The customer is made known of this charge and they have to click accept before the transaction is completed.”
