AMORY – Hannah Louise Jenkins, 81, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus.

She is survived by six sons, G. Ezell McKinney of Landover, Md., Dexter McKinney of Hawaii, Roger McKinney, Zachary McKinney, Curtis McKinney and Dudley McKinney, all of Amory; one daughter, Merlee Johnson; two sisters, Dora Morris of Gary, Ind., and Nollon McKinney of Fulton; 24 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

SALTILLO – Gerald Owens, 73, died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2012, at his home. He was retired from the Saltillo Police Department. He was a member of the Church of Christ. He loved working in his garden with his gardening buddies, Tommy and Bucky, spending time with his family and friends, and his dogs, Peanut and Rennie.
Service will be at 2 p.m. today at Waters Funeral Home in Baldwyn with Bro. Merle Floyd officiating. Burial will be in Mayfield Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Fay Miller Owens of Saltillo; three sons, Steve Owens (Renae) of Houston, Scotty Owens (Christa) of Jericho community and Dudley Owens (Angie) of Saltillo; two daughters, Nancy Owens Lansdell (Mike) of Mooreville and Debbie Cameron (Eric Hankins) of Tupelo; brother-in-law, David Lansdell of Saltillo; 18 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; special great-granddaughter, Gabby Owens; one aunt, Lois Hutcheson of Wheeler; extended family, Mike Cameron of Saltillo; host of cousins, nieces and nephews; and his mother-in-law, Geneva Patterson of Baldwyn.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ofus Owens; his mother, Ruby Dunaway; sister, Virginia Lansdell; son, David Wayne Owens; and his grandparents, Elvie Dunaway and Leola Raines Dunaway.
Pallbearers will be Trae Speaks, Hunter Speaks, Nash Lansdell, Daniel Owens, Derrick Owens, Blake Hudson and Zack Hill.

TIPLERSVILLE – Charlie Clifford “Cliff” Gunn, 80, died Sunday, Aug. 12, 2012, at Baptist Hospital East in Memphis. He was born Oct. 24, 1931, in Ruckersville to Charlie Norris Gunn and Lula Mae Horston-Gunn. He married Annie Elois Hines on Oct. 11, 1968. He was employed with Day & Night Corp. and United Technologies in Collierville, Tenn., for 20 years. He was a member of Piney Grove M.B. Church in Chalybeate. He loved singing, traveling, playing checkers, watching sports and wrestling, and making people laugh.
Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Ball Hill Cemetery in Tiplersville. Foster and Son Funeral Home of Ripley is in charge of the arrangements.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Annie Elois Gunn; one son, Tracy O’Neal Gunn, and one daughter, Alicia Yvette Gunn-Gibbs (Oscar Anderson), both of Memphis; one sister, Liza Louise Purttle of Bolivar, Tenn.; sisters-in-law, Essie (Sal) Spights and Doris Jean (Paz) Bell, both of Tiplersville; and brothers-in-law, Charlie Rufus Wims of Corinth and J.L. BOONEVILLE – Imogene Tidwell Taylor, 94, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at the Longwood Community Living Center in Booneville. She was born March 8, 1918, in Tishomingo County to John and Katie Tidwell. She was a member of Candlers Chapel Baptist Church. She worked at Prentiss Manufacturing and Blue Bell Manufacturing. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and yard work.
Services will be at 4 p.m. today at the McMillan Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Ed Lowery and Bro. Kevin Nichols officiating. Burial will be in Holley Cemetery.

NEW ALBANY – Malcolm E. “Gene” Smith, 85, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at his residence. He was born Feb. 5, 1927, in Union County to Wiley Smith and Velma Bishop Smith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was a retired brick mason and employee of the City of New Albany Gas Department. He was a member of the Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Chism Smith of New Albany; three stepdaughters, Brenda Richey, Betty Potts and Carol Rodgers; two sons, Scotty Smith and Mike Smith; three stepsons, Eddie Medlin, Don Medlin and Kenny Potts; four grandchildren; and a host of stepgrandchilren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a stepson, Jimmy Dale Medlin; and a brother, Curtis Clinton Smith.

She was a member of Center Hill Baptist Church. She loved her gardens and flowers. She was a caring, beautiful mother and a wife for 67 years.
